No, they don't. It's clearly here for people to ask questions and then argue the t*ss with random strangers when they don't get the answer they want. That's what I've picked up from my browsing here anyway:rotfl:0 -
It would be great if you could nail them on some kind of violation of the Data Protection Act. It is not morally right to sell on personal details and possibly illegal; definitely worth looking into.
Please report back if you have any success or not.0 -
Thanks EdGasket, first smart thing ive heard all day.0

The way to go would be to refer it to the Information Comissioner's Office. They have the final say about whether data sharing is within the rules.
Given that the insurers (obviously) needed uour details for a very specific purpose and (presumably) didn't include an opt in / out choice fot you I'd have thought they'd be on a pretty sticky wicket passing them on without your express permission.0 -
These claims management companies just push up costs. The car hire charges are inflated and they seem to do very little for what they are being paid. I guess the insurance company gets a backhander errr..... referral fee.Je suis sabot...0

Road accident management
How about the ones who phone me
1 to tell me about the fictitious accident that happened 3 months ago and have I signed the accident insurance papers? - answered no accident happened to me.
2 let call go to answerphone
3 they rung very soon after again, after being told - I'm on the TPS list
4 and at the fourth time to tell me who they are with but won't give their number - so I got cross as parents had been killed in a car accident a year ago.
5 Call 5 told I was misbehaving and shouldn't shout - to which I replied - where's your sensitivity and was told I don't care and you will be rung like this all of the time. I put phone down.
5 Was rung again - nobody there. None since then.
How completely ridiculous to be phoned by someone in a call centre who has no reason to call who then gets an attitude when after 3 calls I get cross. I didn't swear, but has the temerity to tell me off!0 -

They will also tell you that as you 'opted in' to be contacted that TPS wasn't relevant. That's the latest wheeze. If you wondered where all the foot in the door double glazed salesmen have gone, wonder no more.0 -

Or just answer, "Oh, I was killed in that one." Some even reply, "I'm sorry to hear that."0 -
Had similar call after shopping for quotes obviously had to enter car incident on quote requests...0

I still get them (personal injury) about my motorbike crash nearly 8 years ago ... statute of limitations is well past for that.
I'm also getting the same (personal injury) about the claim earlier this year when someone reversed into my car ... at <5mph! (Ooh! The whiplash!)0
