It's a warm temperature. The fire is lit and the central heating is on.

Right - so, would I be wrong in thinking that 16degrees is too cold ?

20 deg C. Normal evening temperature is 21.5 deg C, but feels much warmer as behind our main couch is a ridiculously humongous 12000 BTU radiator.

16 deg C is what our thermostat is set to during the weekdays when we're at work and overnight when we're in bed. It has to be bitterly cold outside for the heating to kick in and maintain that temperature, though.

Numbers mean nothing, it's how it feels. Sometimes the stat in the lounge is set at 20°, sometimes 21°. I'm in jeans & t-shirt & the wife's under a blanket. The kitchen thinks it's 23° but it feels the same to me.
Isn't 16° the temperature the government advises old people to stay above? Wouldn't want them wasting too much of the world's precious resources.

Usually around 16 degrees. I am wearing a fleece. I don't like it too warm. My heating bills are low which is an added benefit.

Just had a look. Digi roomstat in hallway says 19c and boiler is not firing. Feels just right. Last energy account was Jan 2016 and spend was Electric £19.84/Gas £38.06 :)
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

Currently reading 18 degrees. I have a digital thermometer in the lounge to check.

    I don't know the temperature here, I wish I did. I bought a £1 thermometer but that doesn't really change very much/often. It currently says it's 15 degrees C.

I've set the CH to come on at about 8 degrees, according to the numbers on the dial.

    My windows are open.

Overall, I find my house to be warm and comfortable with little heating needed; it's a fairly new build.

Maybe I just don't feel the cold .... or maybe it's because I am sitting here wearing a fleece jacket and with a sleeping bag over my legs :)
