HELP - Compass Debt Counsellors - CREDITORS MEETING 30th March in Leicester
Comments
-
Please note, the date of the meeting is now 30th March. 2:30pm. I found this out by logging in to the portal. There is another letter dated 15th March outlining this. Despite me logging my interest with AARBS they haven't sent me this info like they should be doing so I guess everyone should keep checking the portal: (it wont let me post links so note the spaces)

A quick update too, I called all our creditors and to be fair they've all been great. Putting accounts on 30 day hold, some even 3 months. I also found this web tool https:// nedcab.cabmoney.org.uk/dmp.asp (note the spaces again!) I think I might have a crack at doing this on my own.
I've not had chance to speak to CAB due to work commitments but I'm going to drop in tomorrow to see about this proxy form, not sure I agree to £12k flat fee and 40% of any recoveries. But I don't understand any of the legal bits so need to seek advice.0 -

Also, please get ASAP on to a proper free impartial debt counselling organisation.
Some links are in my forum signature below this post, and there are more in this link

DO NOT sign up to any company or solicitors that is claiming to write off your debts, or make you debt free in x amount of time. They can't.
If you have already signed, ask to cancel. If they refuse can get some advice on any contract they claim is binding on you.
Mostly please don't worry over much. There is a way through these things.

Luckily my other half sent off his 14-day cancellation to Abbey Solicitors. I also nagged at him to cancel the direct debit even though they wrote back confirming they had cancelled it.
He's now in touch with Stepchange which is a relief.
Sorry to hear about everyone that is going through this.0 -
I only found out yesterday after receiving debt letters from creditors stating that compass haven't been paying them since Dec and had no idea they had gone under so I'm still in shock and in a panic over what to do. Ive been paying compass for over 8 years and was hoping to be debt free next year, but instead I find out they have done one with £4,500 of my money in the "so called pot" robbing scumbags !0

Thank you, I've spoken to a few people but keep getting passed pillar to post! Do we need to fill out the proxy form and send to AABRS?0
