Seems this property was bought for around £120k based on other properties in the same building.
I have been looking though my lengthy tenancy agreement and I can't find out how much notice I need to provide (which is a worry)? I understand this is usually 3 months. The tenancy comes to an end on 11 June 2016. If I give notice on 11 May 2016 does it still need to be 3 months - that would seem wrong?
You can just move out on the 11th June 2016. It's too late now to give 3 months notice if your tenancy allows that in the fixed term as the notice period would have been until the 11th June anyway so you can just move out on the 11th June 2016 without giving any notice.
If however, you stay until the 12th June you will need to give one months notice ending at the end of rent period....i.e the 11th of any month. The earliest you could then leave would be 11th August.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

You don't need to give notice to end something which naturally ends on a particular date.

I wonder why the Agency called me up a few days ago suggesting that I had to give 3 months notice if, in fact, I do not need to if I chose to move out on the 11th June 2016?0 -

You may have an option somewhere in your tenancy agreement to give 3 months notice whilst in the fixed term to end the tenancy agreement early. That fixed term ends on the 11th June. If you had a 3 year tenancy agreement that would make sense. Sometimes it's called a break clause.

I have just received a response back in respect to my application to join the housing register.
They have simply responded by asserting:
"We are writing to you because you have recently applied to join the housing register and on the basis of the information provided, are adequately housed and have no housing need, therefore your application would not be placed into any Band criteria
Your application has now been closed".
That seems a bit harsh. You can only join the housing register if you are homeless?0 -
Does anyone know if Discretionary Housing Payment could cover the costs of renewing a tenancy agreement?
My estate agents want to charge me an admin fee of £90 for renewing the agreement. How am I supposed to cough that up each year?0 -
