No, I'm saying you pay your half of the redemption fee and he pays his and you DOWNSIZE to an affordable level.
It depends how generous your mortgage lender is, perhaps they would waive the redemption penalty if you carried the mortgage on with them on your own. It would take some negotiation with them, hence my suggestion of a face to face with your mortgage provider.laurenphipps85 wrote: »I sense a bitter person.... I'm doing everything I can to afford it! No one here is suggesting you aren't working hard enough to afford it, but you have said YOURSELF that you CANT AFFORD IT for at least a year.
The reality of that is your ex can pull the plug on your situation whenever he likes, and I'm not sure if anyone would carry on paying a mortgage without any benefit for a year.
Would you if the roles were reversed?0 -
So over a year on I actually sold the house within three hours of being on the market - it sold as a £7k increase in price and I managed to get a 15 year mortgage after submitting a query to Santander
The redemption fee was halved as I was reducing the mortgage and in the end the solicitor actually paid for this
I now have a forever home with my daughter although it needed severe renovations it has been worth it
Proof that things can work out0 -

Great - but given you deleted the original post there's little chance anyone has the blindest inkling what you actually resolved :mad:0 -

Also I think she forgot to say “thanks” to anyone on here considering she ended up doing exactly what many on here told her to do0

Given Ms Phipps other outbursts on the forum this morning I suspect any 'thanks' may be a long time coming :rotfl:0
