Surely the process is a 2 way thing
When being considered for a credit limit increase such as mine just now, barclaycard will credit check me and then give me a increase ?
But thinking about it, I will send off the 2 quid required for a printed credit report0 -

The "Credit Score" you see when you log into Barclaycard is provided and calculated exclusively by Experian and is provided to you purely as a "perk" of the account.
The credit checking carried out by Barclaycard when increasing your limit or opening an account is a completely different process and Barclaycard use their own systems and the data from your credit file to do this. They do not see the "Credit Score" that is provided by Experian.0 -
Ok that makes sense.
So experian rate me as a possible 28 out of 999 on a credit scale and yet barclaycard raise my credit limit based on the same info ?

Barclaycard don't use or see your experian score even the one they provide as a perk. You would have got your limit increase mainly on account conduct rather than any external search, even if they do search it will be unrecorded so won't impact you if you apply for other credit products. I've never seen a search from barclaycard when I've applied for increases.

I did tackle barclaycard about this......it appears when I moved to my present address about 5 years ago, they have recorded one digit of my postcode as wrong !!!!
