Im sorry if i came across jokey , but i had an idea a fair bit of mirth would be created by the post , so sort of got in there first , my daughter was a bit confused and upset as she got to the letter first , and i will indeed be taking this up with the bank .
No harm done to be fair. You say your daughter got to it first and was 'upset' but surely your daughter knows you well enough that if you did die, the bank would not be the first to find out, and have time to wrote, print and post a letter and have it delivered before she even knew her father was dead (despite living in his house, to get the letter)

This will be the Halifax as I received exactly the same letter today addressed to the deceased me!
Phoned them up and they said all these letters have been sent out incorrectly addressed. They are in the process of sending out correct letters and an apology.
Personally, I found it quite amusing!0
