Monday 29th Feb - what small DFW things will you do today?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:money:

Morning all
Still on zimmer so am ending the month with maximum no spending.
Roll on getting rid of rubbish back. Remind me never to moan about anything again.
Have not decluttered anything like I should have. Got rid of things out of planned 60. Will have to roll on to March and get rid of 90 things then.
I will suddenly be in the mood and then look out old stuff.
Have a good week everyone.

Good morning
Thanks for the start La E.
Maria - I'm so sorry, you do sound bad. Really hope you get better very soon.
BB - thank you for the gift gaff info. £5 per quarter seems incredibly low. Do you get much data allowance for that?
Jonno - sorry not to reply on last night's thread to your comments. I think it must be very hard to not feel fed up at times when you are working harder than your partner to achieve what should be your shared goals. But ultimately you can't change him only you. Easy for me to say I'm sure. I would be just like you if I felt I was working harder than my partner. Anyway! Hope he does pull his finger out at some point for all of your sake.
Cat - I don't know what sort of front door you have? I've only paid for a reclaimed door to be reused on our house before. That wasn't cheap due to the size of the door plus paying the carpenter to fit it. But I see various front doors in B&Q etc for under £200. The cost will be in having it fitted I'd imagine. How did the hole get there and can the existing door be fixed?

Morning all :waves:
I'd forgotten last night, but I have a visitor coming in to school today to do some whizz bang pop science with my top end Year 11. For the first time in ages I've woken up excited about work on a Monday :rotfl: I just hope that it all works out ok - I've never organised a visitor into school before. I've remembered to organise parking, caretaker help with equipment, lunch, cover for my Year 7 class and I hope that will be enough.
Maria - hope you're feeling better soon.
Bob - the hole in the door is actually in the frame in the bottom corner - it's fair wear and tear as far as I'm concerned. I just hope that replacing a door includes a new frame as well. Better start looking into it...
So, it's also payday :j - a few plans aheadcheck banking and PAD
pay bills that are not DD's
fuel car for the week ahead
free lunch at work
free dinner going to visit a friend I haven't seen for over a year
doctor's appointment this afternoon, not that I'm expecting anything
mark a set of books
monthly cat food order being delivered today
big online shop from Mr T arriving tonight
make plans to collect freezer I won on eB@y last night and plans to fill it :rotfl:
enjoy time off teaching while my visitor is in
reattempt to complete my crochet monkey.
Busy day on - have a good all...Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Honesty update will arrive shortly......:o0 -
Morning Monday Savers,
Just seen the weather forecast & tomorrow looks like one complete & utter wazz-down, so have changed my days around & will tackle garden stuff today & indoor lists tomorrow. Garden frozen solid at the moment so intend to make more coffee & start off in the greenhouse.
*Laundry done overnight on cheap tariff. Will peg it outside. Another load going on full price tariff with tomorrow looking so wet as it'll mean less heated airer use.
*Sort all this year's seeds into order for sowing. 3 types of chilli & aubergines already up. Broad beans playing hard to get as still cold nights up here. Today will sow tomatoes, peppers & a range of flower seeds (free).
*Free fitness clearing large flower bed & digging it over (when the ice thaws).
*Use some of last night's roast chicken to make tonight's dinner.
*Make tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Cash now withdrawn for paying our 6 Savings Piggies, so will sort those out.
*Knit some more little cats & experiment with how I might package them for sale. It feels good to be using up my yarn stash, vintage threads stash & button jar, instead of past craft projects which invariably used to begin with me spending significant amounts of money on kit.
*Free leisure today - recorded tv prog, library book, etc. An NSD for sure.
*Order book for Dad's birthday while it's £4.99 instead of £10.99.
*Round up odd change for shrapnel box.
So that's it. Time to get the ample foxgloves backside in gear.
CCL - Have left a reply on yesterday's thread re door.
Maria - Sorry to hear you are hobbling around in pain. If I lived nearby, I would bring you a cake. Hope you start to pick up soon.

Morning all
Thanks for the start La E
Hope you feel better soon Maria
CCL, I would be looking at doing some kind of a repair on that door frame till things are less tight financially  Is your OH handy at these kinds of things? Mine would be all that, but if he wasn't, I would certainly look for some kind of filler that can be used with whatever material it is, and have a go myself. If it were a wooden frame, we would already have the right stuff here and I wouldn't even need to look. Worst thing that can happen is that it falls out again!
Anyways, my list for today is:
Dog walks
Check banks (not done this for a few days)
Housework- bathroom at the very least!
Sow tomato seeds
Polish coffee table - we have a yew one made by OH which is lovely, but looking a bit dull and scratched
Go to sales unit to see if anything needed
Go to post office to post a RM surveys parcel
HM meals, but not a NSD unfortunately as I forgot to buy a couple of things yesterday  Not an impressive total of NSDs for February
Any online surveys, check FPL
Babysitting this afternoon
That should keep me busy!
Hope you all have a good day0 -

Hello!
Today's plan:
*Full house clean. Have let so much build up over the past few days
*3 loads of washing 1/3 so far
*Drop nephew off at school in a few hours
*Go and buy a new phone charger (bloody iphones)
*have a mooch through charity shops, see if there's anything nice.
*Take Max out for a walk
*8 listings to put on ebay 3/8 completed
*Return Just Fab boots as they sole fell off on the first time wearing them
That's all I can think of, and more than enough to be going on with.
