So basically, I should write to ParkingEye, ask them to write and confirm they have cancelled charge, giving them Aldi's correspondence but otherwise leave the appeal where it is?
And write to Aldi and say I need written confirmation from ParkingEye and will not withdraw appeal until I have it?

Well you just email them as already stated by salmosalaris.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    I've just heard from POPLA.
Parking Eye have not contested my appeal (I didn't withdraw it).
Appeal is successful. Parking Eye have also sent email confirming the charge is cancelled.
Thank you for all your help with this.

And aldi have lost my custom on 2 counts - I still haven't had a reply from the manager. Iwrote to him at the beginning of January and delivered it by hand.

    Well done on you

You can have the last word ..... contact the CEO of Aldi telling him why you and your friends will never spend money with them again.
It is because of the vermin they employ in their car parks and pure ignorance of the Aldi Manager.

Of course you will not get a reply as the CEO comes across as being very ignorant himself

    Well done. :T
You may wish to spread the glad tidings on social media especially Aldi's fakebook page. Parking charge challenged and charge withdrawn, proving the PCN should never have been issued in the first place. As a result of Aldi's employment of parking lie, and your subsequent harassment by the latter, you will now be shopping elsewhere.

Did you at any point tell aldi that you would be holding the liable for your costs/expenses?

It is unreasonable to expect the CEO to reply personally to every complaint he gets.

(Ignorant people don't normally rise to the position of CEO at Aldi)

I wasn't expecting the CEO to reply to me personally. But when someone senior in customer services contacts me after I have contacted the CEO, and they tell me they will look into it and that it is unacceptable for a store manger to ignore a customer's letter. then I think I'm justified in expecting said store manager to contact me and at the very least apologise for the delay in replying.
