Get that confirmation from PE themselves of that offer by e mailing

    Enforcement@parkingeye.co.uk
cc in a friend to prove delivery

    Don't look a gift horse ....

    Dear PE
    Re PCN xxxx
    POPLA ref xxx

I have been informed by Aldi ( please see attached correspondence ) that you will cancel this charge ( for which I deny all liability ) if I withdraw my appeal to POPLA .
Can you confirm this is the case and then I will then action cancellation.
I expect a reply within 7 days but will use the aforementioned correspondence from Aldi to demonstrate the complete absence of any cause of action you may have should I not receive this.
    Yours

Could you please explain why the OP would need to do this when they have an email from Aldi saying it is cancelled ??

Because PE plough on regardless of landowner's wishes , although in Aldi cases they've never been seen yet to bring a court claim :-)

It's all about getting it cancelled for the OP ASAP so they're not subjected longer than necessary to PE's mind games .

And yes PE are trying to save their £27 , nothing wrong with that . If we want PPC's to act honourably it has to be quid pro quo , in fairness they may have cancelled at initial appeal if genuine customer status had been made clear .

but it is cancelled, the Aldi email says so
I understand the mind games Parking Eye play, complete idiots.

So, to play the game and to placate both Popla, and Parking Eye the OP should use POPLA and confirm that Aldi cancelled the charge

That is an option of course.
But why not get notice of cancellation from the horse's mouth .? You still have the option of the former

totally agree with you, trouble is "the horses mouth expels vomit"

Why on this earth should the OP be subjected to this scam. If the OP wants to get confirmation from parking eye, he/she can

Bottom line he has confirmation from Aldi it is cancelled.
Thereafter it is up to parking eye if they want yet another failure ?

Simple answer in court ...... Aldi cancelled, proof of email
  • Yes but most OP's want to avoid the stress and lottery of County Court, fight your own battles there , not someone else's

OP. Please take note of the advice from salmosalaris and Redx.

You can also look up the posting history of the opposing "adviser" to help realise who you should follow over this issue.

I do have an email now from aldi which says

"Thank you for taking the time to contact us today regarding your parking charge. The decision has been made to cancel the charge for you on this occasion and we will be notifying Parking Eye of this immediately.

It is important to note that Parking Eye cannot action the cancellation until your appeal to POPLA has been withdrawn. This is because Parking Eye cannot action a charge whilst it is currently under the appeals process with POPLA.

We would ask that you contact POPLA and request that your appeal be dropped with immediate effect. Once this has been done, please contact us to confirm the cancellation of your appeal. Once we have had that clarification from you, we will of course notify Parking Eye so that they can cancel the charge promptly."

They are lying and I hate liars. That is a lie (the bit in bold).

Loads of PPCs, including PE, tell POPLA that they have cancelled a a charge and a PPC has the option to withdraw. You do not have to.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Coupon-mad, thanks for confirming my earlier post.

For Aldi to lie to a customer is a disgrace.

    QUOTE FROM AN EARLIER POST
"If we want PPC's to act honourably it has to be quid pro quo"

PPC's and in particular PE, do not know what "honour" is and they will never act honourably.
As they say "there is no honour amongst theives"
