I allowed my boyfriend to cheat on me

If he thinks there's no difference between cheating in the early weeks of a relationship - and cheating in an established relationship then he either works for MSE writing their "dilemmas" or is another emotionally manipulative man.
You don't "have to" forgive him - You are an adult - if you choose to continue the relationship you can but equally you can also choose to end it.
I'd suggest you think about if he is emotionally manipulating you and consider getting some help to break the cycle of allowing men to do this in your relationships.
To be honest there is no difference in my mind. One is as bad as the other.0 -
I realise this is a wind-up but for the record, if you don't want to live out an episode of a cheap soap opera, don't (a) cheat on your partner or (b) allow a partner to cheat on you and for the love of God, don't do (a) and (b) together.0

He never did cheat. The relationship grew over the years. In an ideal way for me everything has been perfect until last night when he confessed to cheating on me with his work colleague at the weekend.
What was his attitude
Did he mention the 'free pass'?
Did he say "Oh, btw, do you remember 4 years ago giving me a free pass to cheat on you because you slept with an old boyfriend (4 times) when we first got together?
Well I sh**gged x from work at the weekend.
That's 1 down, only 3 more to go for us to be even"?
Are you sure it's the first time he's cheated?
Have you told him he needs to get checked for a STD?
This hurts so bad. It hurts cause the only person to blame is myself.
Keep that up and you'll be a doormat for the rest of your life.
Apportion blame where it lies.0 -
Well he confessed so allow him 50% for that and the other 50% because you said he could.
Men will if they can; it's just nature. Forgive but say that's it; no more free passes.0 -
