Poppy9- I estimate the work would total £50k + for someone to do it. Whereas I can do it for approx 6k in materials.

Thats assuming the taxpayer funds your choice of lifestyle.

Sorry but you're not making this easy to be able to help you.

You've gave your partners for the tax year but yours from September 2015 to July 2016.

£8,000 is too low as well for your partner. That would only be for 3 months. Is she only working until end of June? You need to include the SMP too which is another 9 months.

So I need the total for both of you for April 2015 to April 2016 and the total for both of you for April 2016 to April 2017.

As has been pointed out it actually costs £6k plus the loss of your earnings.

You are just going to have to prioritise what work you do on your house along with one of you working to support your family.

Poppy 9 - this would be for only 3-4 months. That amount tof work would take me 2+years.

I have investigated getting a builder to do the work, builders dont take on partially completed jobs. I don't even get a reply! Time is the key factor. I need this done now.
  • Why would cover work be 'detrimental' to your 'career' you're not a teacher yet, you're a student with 5 months left of training.

I know lots of nqts who got their nqt year by first going on supply... Myself included.

Keeping your head in the game and keeping up with the ever changing education world is not detrimental. Doing up your house for a year isn't though?

What's the gross? And can you confirm that includes your partners SMP?
  • Marlie- this would start in 5 months time as the baby is due at this point.

Suppy work is looked down on when applying to a full-time post later, you must know this.

The work needs to be done now. Child services would be after me if I left it alone!

No stairs, we are using a ladder.
    Exposed electrics everywhere.
The roof on the back half of the house has sections that are just tarpaulin and need replacing every 3 months until I fit the roof.

Let your comformation bias go for a minute and think about what your saying!
