parking eye charge notice

Anybody ever been hit with a Parking Eye charge notice through the post. ??
I parked in a local hospital for 7 hours and they got a picture of my registration. It was myself as I was visiting an aunt who is really ill and completely went out of my mind about how long I should have parked the car. Friend of mine told me last night you only have 4 hours to park then you have to put in your registration number into a machine at the hospital. I didn,t know this at the time.
28 years driving and this is my one and only fine.
Shall I pay the £40.00 or try and appeal
any help would be great
Thankyou
Raq
You MUST start a thread in the Parking Tickets sub forum of the Motoring forum. Read the NEWBIES thread. There are strict time limits to appeal. Your appeal to Parking Eye will be most probably be rejected but they will supply you with a POPLA (Parking on Private Land Appeals) Code and you appeal again and most likely win. Do not delay and do not ignore it. Parking Eye issue 1000's of court claims per year and if you don't something quick a claim form will soon be landing on your doormat.0 -
Afternoon to you all
As promised I mentioned last week I would keep you guys posted.
I sent an e-mail to the officer in charge on the hospital site . Outlining basically what I stated in my thread. I had no reply from him. I then sent an appeal message on Parking Eye,s website outlining again everything that I put on this forum. I took every bit of advise from Guest101 and printed off letter one from this site. I was just about to complete it when I received my mail yesterday. I have listed below there reply:
Dear Sir/Madam,
We refer to the parking charged incurred on 12th february 2016 at 18.57, at Univertiy hospital ********* multi-deck car park.
We can confirm that this charge has been cancelled and there is no outstanding payment due on this account.
Very pleased indeed as you can imagine. No mention of my e-mail but still very happy.
Oh and lesson learnt for the future.
There was 15 member,s of our family at the hospital that day and 4 other driver,s had parking invoices too.
GUEST101 , keep up the excellent advise that you hand out on this site. Oh sorry and thankyou to all other reply,s too.
Take care:A Tomorrow's just another day - keep smiling0 -
