Worth noting that parking eye are one of the worst for taking people to court.
And wasn't there a new law passed, last yr? Changing the rules about these firms?0 -
The hospital don't have the authority to just cancel it, they would have to put a case to Parking Eye on your behalf (that's if the particular hospital does that, they may not).
Ignore advice to threaten to go to the press, it won't help, how many enquiries/pleas for cancellation do you think they get a month?
PALS should be your first port of call for advice.Over futile odds
And laughed at by the gods
And now the final frame

Yes they are one of the worst.
No, no new law. There was a new judgment, but the law is still either contract law or trespass0 -

The hospital are the land owner and can do exactly that.
As a comms officer for a hospital trust I think I might know...0 -
28 years driving and this is my one and only fine.
Shall I pay the £40.00 or try and appeal
What motivates you to appeal? Is it the £40 or the loss of your clean record?
Paying the £40 is the fastest and easiest way of making this go away - how much do you value your time? But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

What loss of clean record?
It's a speculative invoice, not an official fine which will show up on your records.
OP, if you haven't already follow Guest101's advice, it's spot on.
Get onto the parking forum then decide if you want to fight this.0 -
Yes ask to speak to either the PALS service or the communications team.
If comms, explain you'll go to the local paper if they do not act. 9/10 it's cheaper to cancel the ticket then issue a press release....
morning
apologises for delay
I sent an e-mail to the person in charge of the parking at the hospital. I have not had any reply as yet, will wait until monday. Got until thursday 3rd march to pay the £40.00
Yes gonna fight it.
Will definately keep you posted:A Tomorrow's just another day - keep smiling0 -

You entered a car park with terms and conditions, which regardless of the reasons you failed to comply with.
I would morally pay the fine and be glad it wasn't higher.
Thanks for your post. As i stated in my first post if we wasn,t hit with the upsetting news I would have been more organised. Yes these moments happen to life and yes any other time I would have just paid. Again there was no clear sign outside the carpark to state about the machine in the foyer.
Will do my upmost but least I have tried.
Thanks again:A Tomorrow's just another day - keep smiling0 -
I agree. You might not have intended to not pay what you should have, but that doesn't mean you didn't break the rules.Out of curiosity - Why do you think you have the right to challenge and not pay it?
I used a parking once a week for some month and used to pay via their app, very simple. Always did. Then one day, I was late, decided to rush to my meeting and do it then except I forgot. I paid as soon as I remembered (2 hours later), but unfortunately for me, the man had made his round before.
It was very frustrating, felt unfair, especially as I did pay it afterwards (the full amount), but ultimately, I accepted that it was my failing and paid. One sure thing, I never did it again!0
