U learn by ur mistakes as they say.
Just hope that ur lad has joined a proper Uni and not one of the old polys as it could be a waste of money.
One of the few errors that Tony Blair made.

Back to Santander . . .
I am a customer (123 account, Cash ISA) and have recent dealings with this Bank in my capacity as Executor of my late mother's accounts.
An error occurred when Cash ISA accounts in the name of the deceased were closed - it became apparent that interest had been underpaid to these accounts! Whilst the amounts of underpayment were nominal, I wished to ensure that the correct amounts were paid.
I raised this issue with the specialist Bereavement Team (at their request as a complaint) - and after a delay lasting a number of months they finally accepted that they had underpaid and offered 'human error' and 'back office systems' as the reason.
I accepted this explanation, but was not satisfied with the way the complaint was handled: the member of staff allocated to deal with the matter did not return phone calls as promised, and he was also untruthful about his dealings with me. He maintains that he phoned me on one particular day - I was at home and no call was received. Furthermore, no call was logged on my ansaphone. I spoke to his Supervisor who offered to investigate as she said she would be able to trace the record of calls made by staff. After a further delay, the Supervisor admitted that there was no log of any call being made, however she chose to believe her member of staff as she believed him to be honest!0
