Counter staff and phones a bit hit and miss, but the back room and secure message message gang have been excellent.

Santander suck.... They can't cope with any enquiries that aren't basic. I have lost count of the hours I have wasted on the phone trying to resolve more complicated issues. I hate them, unfortunately we are stuck with them because my husband works for them.

I have been a very happy Santander customer for over 5 years, with multiple current accounts. Fantastic interest for many years, nice cashback, friendly and competent Branch staff, excellent service for Select customers. Reading your frightening news, I am now seriously worried, and considering to close all my accounts with them ;)
  • This is a fairly old thread now but will join in anyway. We have been with Santander for about 15 years now (previously Alliance and Leicester). Not had any issues but disappointing when they made the Santander 123 less attractive. The customer service I have always found to be fine.

  • Another commendation for Santander. It is being my main current current ( Girobank and Alliance and Leicester previously). Use it as the "hub" for all the high interest current accounts it feeds with no problems. Like Nationwide, you can contact them online using secure messaging thus avoiding phone calls and the endless options that that entails going through (TSB BOS Halifax Lloyds do not provide online secure messaging).

Why do you feel the need to keep polluting threads with your puerile off-topic rantings about your ex-employer when in this case the question asked was specifically about Santander? Your copious but spurious use of emojis would suggest that you find it funny but I suspect that you're in a minority of one....

Barclays can't be that bad, seem pretty good at filtering out unsuitable employees at least.

Not so good with dealing with customers. Bottom two with regs dealing with PPI complaints and overall bank satisfaction. Only Lloyds were below. Also remember that their ceo Jes Staley is being investigated by the FCA for wrongly trying to identify a whistle-blower (with luck he will be gone soon) and three directors (including their ex ceo John Varley) and Barclays are going on trial for fraud in 2019.

Mmm... sure that they are not bad.:D ? :rotfl:

Damn..I forgot to close our account after you last told me about them, and now I've been and gone and let my lad open a student account with them. Doh! :D
I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.
