  • CCL Thanks for starting us off today.

    We have sunshine :)

    Tonight my children have an evening activity, I pay up for 2 participants, so I get a discount, I also pay up front for a set number of sessions, so they get a free session. Also if we miss any sessions role over to the next time they attend, win, win, win. Also we can walk to it which is a bonus and as they get older they can take themselves.

    Hugs to everyone that needs them.

  • Hi All

    Am still overjoyed at DD shopping yesterday. My feb groceries are under budget! Yippee. I just wish I could resist when I actually visit the store. I can do it when I get home delivery and when I just write the list but sadly am unable to resist when in possession of a trolley.

    Had a really busy morning. Productive, not profitable, but very busy. The type of day that has to be done.

    Am thinking of getting round to serious decluttering. DD 1st holy communion outfit just delivered to a little girl similar shape to mine just about to have hers in May.I kept everything, but it is much better bringing joy to another family.

    I really need to focus on this, getting rid of stuff rather than acquiring stuff. 7 items in bag with the dress so 23 more to go and another 30 from jan. 53 items to be gone by 29 Feb and counting.

    Lets all enjoy the weather.

    Maria.

  • Afternoon guys - thanks for starting the thread cat

    ziggy massive hugs to you lovely, take it a day at a time. This painful period will pass for all of you x

    argh after being ill only a couple of weeks ago I have come down with something else! Feeling grotty so didn't go to work Sunday or Monday and have cancelled my 2 appointments today, one of which was being involved in a research study where I would have been paid £30... Rescheduled for end April.

    Despite being ill I have:

    * hung up a load of washing
    * put away a mountain of washing & another to be done
    * checked banking & received £8.91 interest
    * wrote a meal plan & a shopping list
    * tidied dgd's room
    * booked a careers appointment for tomorrow to discuss post grad studying ideas
    * spent a couple of hours looking into how to do a masters in psychology conversion course and institutions
    * put spag bol in the SC for tea

    Still to do:

    * vacuum through
    * hang up washing
    * go shopping, stick to list & take shopping bags
    * reading book & knitting for entertainment
    * make some banana muffins to use up brown bananas
    * cook oh's chicken while oven is on

    Ok going to go and jump in the bath now, take some meds and hope to feel human before going out

    Thought I'd check back in to see what you've all been up to since this morning. Had forgotten mr f is working late so I'm having a bit of extra unexpected leisure time between now & him getting back for dinner. Everything on my list achieved today. Loved the time outside in the garden & getting a lot of big bulky things completely dry outside on the line. 7 aubergine seedlings up now, & the first tiny chilli is just poking through.
    Surveys were a bit of a waste of time.....rather late in the day for them, so kept getting chucked out because 'my' demographic was 'full'. In the end, I concentrated on doing Toluna quick clicks & added another 2,000 points to my total very easily. Must get back into the habit of sitting down & doing a couple of surveys every morning over coffee.
    Still haven't sewn any more cats up, but did knit 2 more & cast on a grey sort of tabby. Will defo aim to sew up as many as I can tonight, but I tipped out my knitting basket & there are 9 which need doing. Only need to shove 2 jackets in the oven & heat up a couple of pans tonight, so will get sewing & stuffing & stitching on whiskers as soon as I sign out of here, promise!
    Found out that our energy provider is reducing price of gas. Yay!!! But that O2 is 'changing our tariff' which means an increase. Booo!! I always say that what you get back from one provicer, there'll always be another one waiting in the wings to relieve you of it!
    OK, I am almost threading that needle & chopping up whiskers right now! Honest!

    Today's list:
    No heating on downstairs Done, wood burner alight now though
    Washing out on line to dry Done, dried, as it was sunny all day and DIDN'T RAIN :T Just got to fold it up and put it in the airing cupboard now (Ironing? I hear you ask :o Ironing? I reply, What's that :rotfl:) Not much 'needs' ironing round here :D
    Dog walks x 2 Done
    HM meals from stores Had lunch out, unusually for us, but only a snack
    Any surveys, check FPL Only a couple of surveys today, and as always, I haven't won the FPL :rotfl:
    Finish housework Done some - not sure when it will be 'finished' though...
    Put away shop stuff I brought back yesterday (just one small box, into the loft cupboard with it out of the way!) Done
    Few shopping bits needed Done
    Buy and send a birthday card for DS (using a free stamp from RM surveys :D) and transfer some money into his bank account by way of a present. He doesn't know what he wants, but beer money is always acceptable :rotfl:Bought the card. Baby GD can post it tomorrow, as she likes posting things :)

    Right, better get ready for dog walk #1. He wants to show off his smart new haircut. Mind you, I think he has been speaking to Mrs F's cat. We have a last tin of pedigree chum puppy food to use up and he doesn't like it much. It tends to get the jelly licked off it and left....

    He ate it in the end, only to discover he has it for tea as well :rotfl: I shan't buy it again, but wasn't going to waste this last tin. Still enough for tomorrow though! Being so small, a standard sized tin is enough for 2 days at least (mixed with other food)

    Dawn- Re dog.....yes, that is our cat's MO. Are you sure they haven't been texting each other, lol?

    Hmm possibly. He hasn't met a cat in person (if that is the right word :rotfl:). If he did, I am sure he would want to play, and equally sure the cat would not. Adult cats are invariably bigger than he is, so I think I could guess the outcome :rotfl:

    Went shopping to a nearby town we visit occasionally today. When I say shopping, I mean charity shopping - it is a very posh town, and has brilliant charity shops :T Bought a lovely Four Seasons rainproof, lined full length coat, hardly worn and beautifully cut :D It was £20, but would have cost several times that new, and a very smart vintage dress, which needs a dry clean, also pricey for a charity shop, but looks a lot more expensive than it actually was. I have a wedding to go to next month, and I am thinking this would be ideal. So, spent money today :eek: but got really good quality things for mass produced prices, so I am pleased with that.
  • Hello :hello:
    Hugs Ziggy :grouphug: - tough times at the moment I know...
    Maria - you sound like me with grocery shopping. I am terrible for 'food bargains' and sending dh to do our top up shops has been brilliant. We've saved quite a bit of £ this month. Now I need to stop spending on craft stuff. :o:o
