Tuesday 23rd February - What small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important. :money:

Morning All
CCL - Thanks for starting us off today
Thank you so much for all your kind thoughts and messages, you lot really are the best. Not sure how today will go as feeling extremely raw and hurt as more secrets surface. Might as well treat it like a normal day until we find out when the funeral is (we're not invited to be involved in the planning, we're not needed), normality may help distract me from the hurt and anguish being caused. So today I will try to:
Try not to get too stressed -
Have a nap (not slept all night again) -
Packed lunch for DH & DS - Done
Check Bank - Done
Bit tidying in attic -
Craft -
Declutter -
Read -
Continue purge on Emails -
Complete a few surveys -
Enter a few comps -
Read -
All meals from cupboards/fridge/freezer -
Check https://www.freepostcodelottery.com - Remember there are now 5 chances to win -
Check Lucky Phone -
Have a good day! Love to you all!

Morning all

Thanks for starting us off CCL - hope you have a good day
((Hugs)) Ziggy, do take care
Today's list:
No heating on downstairs
Washing out on line to dry
Dog walks x 2
HM meals from stores
Any surveys, check FPL
Finish housework
Put away shop stuff I brought back yesterday (just one small box, into the loft cupboard with it out of the way!)
Few shopping bits needed
Buy and send a birthday card for DS (using a free stamp from RM surveys
) and transfer some money into his bank account by way of a present. He doesn't know what he wants, but beer money is always acceptable :rotfl:
Right, better get ready for dog walk #1. He wants to show off his smart new haircut. Mind you, I think he has been speaking to Mrs F's cat. We have a last tin of pedigree chum puppy food to use up and he doesn't like it much. It tends to get the jelly licked off it and left....0 -

Hello Tuesday Savers,
Just popped in for coffee. Am sitting on kitchen chair shedding random bits of compost from about my person. Today's efforts on the financial front:
*Weeded strip of soil by front patio fence & replanted with the wallflower cuttings I rooted from some old manky ones last year. Free plants. My favourite kind!
*Cleared bark chip area near conservatory where I like to read & drink coffee. We will need to buy 3 bags of bark chips so will look for offers. No other spends though, as livened up surrounding planting with free stuff I potted up last year & neverending supply of self-seeded foxgloves.
*Big load of laundry done overnight on cheap tariff. All now pegged out to dry in bright sunshine. It's NOT RAINING!!
*Forecast looks dry for tomorrow, too, so will put another load on timer for tonight.
*Dinner is jacket potato night. So useful for using up odd portions from freezer. I'm having quorn curry on mine. Mr f has excavated a large stew.
*Surveys later. I'm not going to make anything like last year's amount from these if I don't get back into the habit of doing them.
*Aim to sew up 5 knitted cats. Maybe knit a couple more while catching up with watching 'Vera'. Sort through button jar to pair up little buttons for eyes. Can't decide how much to sell them for. My aim is that they are an affordable little gift item that someone might buy for a cat lover. Will give it more thought. Great to be knitting up my stash, anyway, instead of hitting the wool shops!
*Entered a competition to win a weekend in York.
*Make tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Mr f is driving through our village mid-pm to get to his next port of call for work so he says he"ll try to drop in for a free coffee rather than go & buy a take-out one.
Ok, talking of coffee, that's the end of mine, so am off back outside for another half hour or so to clear away all the pots I've emptied, tools, etc.
Love to all, esp to those having a sad time,

Dawn- Re dog.....yes, that is our cat's MO. Are you sure they haven't been texting each other, lol? We have found a way around this habit tecently by buying the mini-fillet style of cat food pouches. The pieces are much smaller & he is less able to lick off all the jelly & waste the meat. The only large chunked food where this wasteful behaviour doesn't happen is the big tins of 'Classic'. He wolfs that down, chunks, jelly, the lot! Must be good stuff! Ewwwww, stinky though!

Hello,
Sadly yesterday wasn't a NSD, as my poor pup had an accident and I went out to fetch him a new bed.
Today's plans:
Make beef stew in slow cooker for tea
Check bank and move money around
Check FPL and Luckyphone
Have a sort through old stuff to maybe sell on ebay/amazon
Try to minimise amount other half will have the heating on!
Appointment at 2:30, which is ruining my NSD (bus pass doesn't cover the only bus I can catch, so have to pay bus fare)
Catch up on one week's worth of work that's taken a back burner.
Sort out hospital placements
General tidy-up, especially on study!
Have a good day!
