Seems like we're going backwards in terms of women being comfortable in their own bodies.
Nah, I reckon it'll always be like that, human nature to get more relaxed and give fewer f***s as you get older!0 -
Ha Ha person one! I think that's why I have a problem with it. I need counselling!!Never again will the wolf get so close to my door :eek:0

I do think a lot of parents are wary of men who walk about the shower area where there are young children with just a towel round their 'bits', I can't say I blame them .
Again, I don't see why. They're more covered up than they would being just a costume. And the occasional accidental glimpse of a naked bod really isn't going to traumatise them for life. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

I agree it seems to be the older women who are more comfortable with nudity. That said, even most older women seem to leave their costumes on in the communal showers, and try to hide themselves behind a towel while dressing.
In most women's changing rooms that I've been to in recent years I've been the only woman who takes her costume off in the communal shower. I do wrap a towel round me to walk to where I'm going to change, and dress before drying my hair, but reading other replies it seems I'm a bit weird for taking my costume off to shower. I wonder if the others in the changing room are thinking I'm disgusting???0 -
But you have to be naked at some point in order to put your clothes on. Why not in the shower rather than the cubicle? (Genuine question!)
I disagree. A shower is there for you to use as you need to. I have to walk 20 minutes home from the swimming pool, so I'm not going to rinse off and walk home wet and chloriney just to get wet again when I'm home. I wash and condition my hair, and I don't want that getting on my swimsuit as it's not good for the material. I also wash myself (the horror!) so I have to be naked. No-one sees me, so I don't understand why it would matter to anyone that I stood in there naked at any time!
I agree with that - although I kind of admire their confidence!
I would only change in a private cubicle, definitely not in front of strangers.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

I went to boarding school. I'll strip off pretty much anywhere.
Although as the showers at my pool are not only communal but are in full view of the pool, I do draw the line at that. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Love the cartoon but when I was in my teens (back in the dark ages) we had communal showers at school which didn't bother most of us whereas nowadays they'd be considered a form of child abuse. I do think that young women nowadays are far more prudish about nudity than my generation were when young.0 -

I suppose older generations weren't subjected to the same media/!!!!!! onslaught about how a naked woman 'should' look.0 -

Ridiculous. I walk around the gym changing rooms in just a towel, if a parent of a child has an issue with that its their problem not mine.missbiggles1 wrote: »I've never used mixed sex changing rooms but in the women's only changing room it tends to be the older women who are comfortable with nudity and the younger women who wear cossies in the shower and fiddle round getting changed under the cover of their towel.

Male changing rooms are the same. It's always the older men walking around naked making putting their underwear on literally the last action they take. They'll put their socks and t-shirt on before their underwear.
And in answer to person_one's cartoon I've actually seen men in the gym changing rooms drying their pubic hair before. I was a little shocked, I'll be honest!0
