Shower etiquette at the swimming pool

I find it uncomfortable that anyone would shower naked in any type of changing room, I'm no prude and I don't care myself but I think its a bit like going to work without your shoes on
Showers at a swimming pool are there to rinse the chlorine off and then you can have a proper shower at home, IMO.
Same goes for those who prance about naked at a private gym. Why would you dry your hair naked just because you can ...Never again will the wolf get so close to my door :eek:0 -
I do think a lot of parents are wary of men who walk about the shower area where there are young children with just a towel round their 'bits', I can't say I blame them .#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

:rotfl: some of these replies have made me laugh, yes a total stranger said walking to the cubicles with just a towel on was disgusting and the look on her face was genuine
I sometimes swim before work so don't have time to go home for a shower so yes its the full works, although I am dressed when I dry my hair, and as far as I know there were no bits hanging outThe most potent weapon of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed. Steve Biko0 -

But you have to be naked at some point in order to put your clothes on. Why not in the shower rather than the cubicle? (Genuine question!)Showers at a swimming pool are there to rinse the chlorine off and then you can have a proper shower at home, IMO.
I disagree. A shower is there for you to use as you need to. I have to walk 20 minutes home from the swimming pool, so I'm not going to rinse off and walk home wet and chloriney just to get wet again when I'm home. I wash and condition my hair, and I don't want that getting on my swimsuit as it's not good for the material. I also wash myself (the horror!) so I have to be naked. No-one sees me, so I don't understand why it would matter to anyone that I stood in there naked at any time!Same goes for those who prance about naked at a private gym. I agree with that - although I kind of admire their confidence!' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".0 -
Why? Do they not supervise their children? Those who have a problem with adults covered by towels, I mean"On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." My hero, Mr Steer.0

Children are allowed unsupervised from 8yrs I believe so they could be there without parents. I guess if the parents are worried they should accompany the children.#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

I've never used mixed sex changing rooms but in the women's only changing room it tends to be the older women who are comfortable with nudity and the younger women who wear cossies in the shower and fiddle round getting changed under the cover of their towel.
Seems like we're going backwards in terms of women being comfortable in their own bodies.0 -
Its really unusual for me to have a problem with it - I haven't really got a good argument in my favour.Never again will the wolf get so close to my door :eek:0

Isn't it more the older we get the more comfortable we are? I think teens are embarrassed by everyone's naked bodies, not just their own.Never again will the wolf get so close to my door :eek:0 -
Over here in Germany, it is normal to shower fully naked after a swim.
It is actually odd, seeing someone showering in there cossi:o
In our local pool, the showers are gender separated. The changing rooms are communal. No one bats an eye lid when someone walks out the shower with a towel wrapped around them. It is pretty standard.
That said, we even have a big family changing room, where more then one family can change at the same time. :undecided This is one step to far for me personally.I wish Germany had a website like moneysavingexpert!0
