Ditched Sky, but can't get freesat to work

What's the model number of the Humax box?0
-
It's Humax HDR 1100s.
We've boxed it back up and set sky back up as we still have a bit of sub. left and my other half can't handle the no telly situation!0 -
Your Sky box will do the free channels without a card (you can take the card out to see what you'll get).
It won't record though...0 -

I didn't know the sky box would work, although there has never been a card in there, so nothing to remove.
Well... we put the new box away, with the intention of returning tomorrow when my son sorted it out over the phoneBecause we had been using Sky with the scart, the telly was set up to use scart, so we had to find the old telly remote and switch it to HDMI. Now it works - hoorah.
Thanks for all your help everyone. And I hope this post helps others with the same problem in the future.0 -
I was thinking this earlier on in the thread, had you tried changing the input to HDMI? Looks like that is what it was.0
-
The solution was too obvious for all the brains on this thread - myself included! This is in the 'did you plug it in?' category.0
-
Yeah sorry about that! I just didn't think that a change of lead would need anything else changing - even though every day for about 15 years the word 'scart' has appeared on the left hand-corner of the screen to remind me of my connector...0

Confused you say you have a sub, (subscription?) but no card so what is the sub for?0 -
The subscription was for Sky, we have been paying for years. Never had a card in the box though there is a space for one.0
