How is that, how does it work on a Pc, the website only shows downloads for mobile phones ?
https://web.whatsapp.com/
Do any of these work on desktop Pc ?
You need to download WhatsApp from your App Store and follow the process listed above for enabling it on your desktop/laptop (e.g. Firefox/Chrome/Safari) and then scan the QR code as shown here:It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
I use Whatsapp on my pc when i can. You just have to pair the code reader on the phone up with the page on the pc.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

It appears that images taken with my Canon slr appear to be about 20 plus megabytes in size. Surely sending a few of those together in an email, would exceed some limit or other, and take an age to transmit?
Pictures from camera phones tend to be around a couple of megabytes so shouldn't be an issue for most email providers. When you have high quality images from a camera like yours i would just upload them to a cloud storage site and send anyone a link who wants to see them. I backup all my photos to cloud storage anyway so its easy for me to just send people a link if i want to share any of them.
Depending on your internet speed it may take a while normal ASDL broadband they take about 3 minutes each at that size!. But with Fibre Optic its around 10 seconds or less so not too bad.0 -
Ok peter999
I didn't make it clear enough in my last post that a mobile is also needed. Sorry0 -
Whatsapp web is just a 'window' into your phones Whatsapp. It's very handy for downloading photos that you've been sent, onto your PC - or for sending stuff from your PC.
YOU NEED IT INSTALLED ON A MOBILE DEVICE FIRST
Now, could you use an android emulator like one of these: http://techapple.net/2014/12/top-7-free-android-emulators-windows-788-110-pccomputer-run-android-appsgames-windows-78-110/
Then grab the APK for Whatsapp from here - https://www.whatsapp.com/android/
You still need a phone number to register a Whatsapp account.. and that can be achieved by ordering a free SIM from somewhere0 -

Open whatsappweb on your computer browser and then open the whatsapp app on your phone. go to the chats screen and click on the 3 dots in the top right then select whatsapp web and then point your phone's camera at the barcode. It will then automatically register your computer0

blimey, thank you. that seems to have worked/sorted itself.
So, it is now 'there' (WHERE?) on the computer.
If I go to my photos, I can ? (HOW), send any of these by whatsapp....., or is it only the photos on my phone that I can use/send (but then why would I need whatsapp on the computer !?)0
