WhatsApp on pc

Thanks for further comments guys. My son initially said he couldn't faff about reducing his smartphone images to email size. WhatsApp web does seem to be the answer, although any updates with regards to baby pictures does require the absolute black magic action of my wife scanning a barcode on the WhatsApp web page with her smartphone, in order to bring up the relevant folders.
I did take my Panny Zoom plus the 550, and associated lens over to their home on Saturday for baby pictures. Still managed to get more blur than seemed reasonable, but Granddad was under some pressure to just get on with it, and of course, no flash allowed! Sigma 30m seemed about the best, but focus still left something to be desired.0 -
I'm just thinking out loud now, but I am sure my son- in- law told me that when he takes a photo on either iPhone, or Samsung galaxy tablet they all sync together and are available to view on his Windows laptop via Google photo's and from either one of them he can send to me via messenger. Now isn't that what your family intend? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

That would certainly be a lot easier than opening WhatsApp on your smartphone, scanning the QR code and then using Chrome/Firefox/Safari (I've done the same on my iPad and it's a painful experience!)
Depending on your set up you can either reduce the resolution for 'unlimited' storage within Google Photos OR set a higher resolution (which is limited to your Google Drive allowance I believe).
In fact I use Google Photos over iCloud because it's just easier in the long run. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -

It does require installing the Chrome browser though
I checked web page and it seems to be for downloading to mobiles.0 -
peter999 it does work on a pc which was what I was enquiring about when I started this thread. I loaded Chrome to use it, other posters have mentioned that Firefox works as well. It perhaps must come from a smartphone in the first place, which is where my comments on needing to place my wife's mobile in front of a barcode on the WhatsApp web page, on the computer screen, in order to access my sons posted comments and images, comes in.0

He can just send them full size, no need to reduce the image size and loose quality. Using WhatsApp will also reduce the size of the image with a loss of quality.0 -
In that case takman, I don't know what he is on about!
It appears that images taken with my Canon slr appear to be about 20 plus megabytes in size. Surely sending a few of those together in an email, would exceed some limit or other, and take an age to transmit?0 -
Help please
I downloaded Chrome (though I had it already, just dont use) on my Vista HP.
Then typed in WhatsApp Web and all I got was a pixeled square, phone in the middle, and ...
"Use WhatsApp on your phone to scan the code"
I dont have a phone. I thought the whole idea was to get WhatsApp on the PC
What am I doing wrong - advice please0 -
ah, sorry. I MUST have a phone with it on, AS WELL...
Minimum requirements to enjoy WhatsApp Web- You need to have an active WhatsApp account on your phone.
