You can get every Sky channel through Virgin BB other than Sky Atlantic. You can definitely get sky movies and sky sport channels as we have them through Virgin. The BB is far superior.
You just need to negotiate release from your sky contract. Moving home to an area not served may be enough, or alternatively let them try and instal and they will eventually realise it isn't possible.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Thanks for all your responses, It sounds like:
1) I can put a sky dish up at the back of the property providing its south facing.
2) Best service will be via Virgin Media Broadband (Cable) Then Sky digital tv if I wish to stick with Sky
I will just need to work with sky to see if they can cancel my sky broadband package early, due to the lack of availability in my area and I remain on the sky tv package.
Someone suggested seeing what the price difference is of having virgin tv package alongside sky tv package as there might not be much difference between just broadband and TV. I think the only benefit is also having BT Sports with Virgin Media0 -
You get BT Sports if you take the XL pack.
I have done a fair bit of pricing on the packages lately when it looked like we wouldnt be in a VM area and Sky always worked out more for me.
I must admit I dont have a desire for Sky Atlantic so it hasn't impacted me.
Its unlikely you will get out cost free from Sky BB on the basis the annual cost is what makes up the offer they make to you.0 -

Virgin's pricing works best as a package of tv/broadband/phone, in the long run I doubt it makes sense to keep Sky tv (depends what channels you want though). Probably a question for another forum.0 -

Anything I want to watch on Sky Atlantic I just download, with the benefit of Virgin 200mb it only takes the time to boil the kettle for an HD show like Vinyl or Game of Thrones + no adverts! Simples.0 -
Ohhh where from ? we used to do this and stream via Google Chrome but the site disappeared - we would rather stick with Virgin but watch a lot of US drama.
The Bungalow already has a Cable laid so a lot easier to stick and we will not lose our Blueyonder e-mail address (that tells you how long we have been cable LOL)Totally Debt Free & Mortgage Free Semi retired and happy0
