SSE beating Martin today.

Daily Mail collective switch with SSE is 12% cheaper for me than Martin's collective.
I am 65% gas 35% electricity. Which is roughly where Britain is.
I hope the 97,000 switchers have done their homework and haven't been sold a pup.
Sadly...

One of the reasons I will never sign up to any tariff that imposes exit fees. There's invariably a cheaper deal just around the corner...0

Wow - we have all got short memories. It was only a couple of years ago that energy prices were rising by 8% per year. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
This is the SSE tariff I was quoted today by Daily Mail collective - a 12 month fix
electricity 0.09419000 per kwh
standing chg 0.1479 per day
gas 0.0232100 per kwh
standing chg 0.1479 per day
Greater London
edit - correcting my own figures.0 -

No matter what period we are talking about there is invariably a cheaper tariff just round the corner. It's called 'operation get to the top of the switching sites by ripping off our loyal/apathetic customers'. Or summat like that.0 -
What's SSE like? Has anyone use them?
I've just signed up with British Gas via Martin's Collective and waiting for a response0 -

It doesn't matter in the least, all anyone needs to do is look at the various comparison sites and check the tariffs.0 -
What's the URL for the Daily Mail collective?0

I've no doubt that someone will have an even cheaper one next week and possibly another the week after so you've just got to keep your eye (or ear) to the ground and swap when you feel it's appropriate.
IMO taking out a long term fix or one with exit fees is probably not a good idea at the moment with falling prices, especially if you chop and change regularly.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
Cut to the chase - It was so easy for me all by myself, just one of me, to beat a collective of 100,000 I wonder whether the collective deal has been awarded to the energy company that offers the best terms to Martin rather than the best terms to the 100,000 switchers.
Just saying...0
