I'm currently switching from SSE via the Cheap Energy Club. If the projection is correct I should be about 40% better off.

    And I'm in Scotland...

    40% !!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I know! Why didn't I switch earlier??

Mind you that's on what I pay at present.

But even the cheaper tariff SSE suggested still leaves me paying about 10% more if I don't switch to BG.

    2025 Declutter:

WEIGHT I'll start with 25 lbs (though I need to lose more!) and see how it goes...🤔 0/25

    2025 NSDs: 15 per MONTH - FEB 4/15; JAN 21/15

You firstly state that in post#1 the Daily Mail SSE tariff is 12% cheaper than the MSE BG tariff. Also your consumption is 65%gas 35% electricity

Your incorrectly stated SSE charges(now amended) in post#5 state Greater London.

Your post#11 re-states that you can easily beat the MSE deal.

You state today in post#18 that you are in the North West with a 15:85 electric gas ratio(it was 35:65 in post#1) and that the SSE deal is £100 more expensive than the MSE deal.

You confirm today in Post#20 that SSE are 12% cheaper than the MSE BG deal in ??

Again today in Post#21 you state you are switching from SSE via the Cheap Energy Club to ?? and should save £400. You are now in Scotland.

If the Daily Mail SSE collective is so cheap, why are you not going for that deal?

To say I am confused is an understatement.

    Hi Cardew.

I think part of your confusion is caused by the way the quote appears.

Dannynolan seems to be in the NW. I ( basketcase) am in Scotland but the quote does read as if dannynolan said that.

There I've fixed it for him. My bad, don't usually post here.

I'm in Greater London (along with 8 million others who may not be impressed by Martin's collective.)

And I will be going for the Daily Mail collective.

Forgive me, but it would seem to me that the 'train has left the station' as MSE CEC's collective switch is no more. When comparing 'deals' it is worth remembering that standing charges and unit prices may not be the only things to take into consideration. Under Ofgem rules, suppliers are able to offer dual fuel discounts, and a discount for online billing. That said, I do look at just the cost of supply when choosing a deal as discounts are fixed but unit charges vary with usage. My single supplier gas supply was £60 less per year than the MSE CEC offer but the overall difference in total energy cost was about £2 per year more with discounts taken into account.
