It's to get their foot in the door I suppose. Once a customer tries to sign up online cpw is probably failing them in the hope that they decide to to pursue the contract they are after over the phone. That way cpw do not have to shell anything out to the likes of quidco, greaseypalm etc. I think these cashback companies are being used as mugs by cpw and they should really kick up a stink with them about it.

If cpw do send out their copy of the conversation you can bet it will have been 'tampered' with.
Well at last I have received a copy of the recording of the original phone call and am astounded. The recording has been tampered with. It would seem I initially did agree, but the part of the conversation after the redemption claims were explained where I said I wasn't interested etc has been deleted from the recording. Someone must be really desperate.

What format is the recording in?

You may able to look at the meta data of the recording and show that it has been tampered with.

It appears to be a wav file, (I think). How would I go about looking at the meta data. There is no time stamp on the recording as is sometimes on video, if that is what you are referring to. No point complaining to CPW, they will just deny it. Lied about just about everything else so far. Surely this is a criminal act.
  • How does the call (on the recording) end?

    Use your brains ;)

Not really practical to record phone calls, especially on a mobile. I don't normally agree to anything over the phone, I always ask for written details if it's something I'm considering. You just don't expect this sort of deception.

True. What I would do is record the call and ask for written confirmation. Without the two, I never accept their offer or anyones offer.
