  • B****R ! Just remembered I was going to prune that tree tomorrow. Oh Well, looks like it will be staying that wild for another year. Anything to prevent them cr*pping next door.

I returned my neighbours cats' poo in the end, like Kadz did in the end. It had no concern where it did it, the lawn, beds or veg patch. Strangely enough, they stopped talking to me as they didn't like it in their children's play area ........ that being THEIR garden!!

Hastily I add that I tried as many humane methods as I knew of to deter the cat in the first place. They moved and all was quiet for a while, but I've now got a new pest visiting.

I've tried putting strings across areas with strips of carrier bags tied on as they don't like the flapping....... and guess it gets in their way :rotfl: . I heard that tinfoil is good too because it's reflective, but not sure how to stop it from tearing. ( perhaps sellotapedown each strip?? Will try that one on their entry/escape routes later on and see if it works.) I used my sister's dog poop and put it in the places the cats came through - not very successful and it's only a small dog ..... maybe the cat figured it out?! It sneered at lengths of garden hose pretending to be snakes. I've never had an success with part-filled/wholly filled bottles of water either.

To stop them digging around seeded areas, I sprinkled ground black pepper about. It worked well although it has to be done repeatedly but Mr T's value pack does the job cheaply. I've put short sticks in the ground where my bulbs and corms are now planted. (also helps work out planting distances for other plants until the shoots appear.) I'm totally fed up with it to be honest and am sick of seeing all my hard work ruined in one scratch of the cat's paw, let alone what it leaves behind.

I've had advised only this morning that the best way to get rid of male cats in your garden is to get your husband or another grown up man to pee in a bottle. you then have to sprinkle it over your paths and places where the cats like to go (dont pour it over your flowers) personally, I think this sounds disgusting but the person who told me this is adamant that this works.

I really don't believe the citrus theory.

My boy loves yogurts & he LOVES the orange flavour.
  • Finely chopped garlic on their 'toilet' seems to do the trick - not sure how long it will last for though as I've just done it and so far, the signs are good

I have been using the Silent Roar pellets with real success - I haven't had any presents left lately in my vegetable borders (thank goodness!)

I had cats pooing all over my garden so I brought some of those Silent roar lion poo pellets and they seem to do the job great, haven't seen a cat in ages. Only problem is my neighbours dog seems to think he's a tuff-nut compared to the lions and has been squeezing through the fence and pooing all over where all the lion poo pellets are.

I've made a mixture of chilli, curry powder, garlic and tea tree oil and scattered it all over the fence. I heard that the overpowering smells irritate animals and keep them away? Not sure if it works yet!

Is cat poo a good fertilizer? My neighbours cat seems to like lying in my garden & occassionally I find a bit of poo.
