We've found out today too. I've had a rollercoaster of a day. Nerves all morning and then got home at lunchtime to find DD got her 3rd choice school.
To be honest, I was ok about it. but OH was pretty upset. I started to ring the other schools she applied to but the admissions officer at her first choice wasn't around. So I steeled myself and went up to collect DD and tell her the news. She was really upset.
We got home and I was about to go into pamper mode when I checked the phone. Her first choice school had called and wanted me to ring them. When I called it turned out there had been an error and she has got a place!!
I'm now so emotionally drained I don't know whether to get angry, laugh, cry or dance!MFW 2019#24 £9474.89/£11000 MFW 2018#24 £23025.41/£15000

Congratulations. We're waiting to hear whether we've got a place at a reasonable school that is massively oversubscribed or a sh*t school that's virtually on our doorstep. I cried when I read 3kidsnomoney's post so think in my heart of hearts I know what's coming to us. I feel as though we've failed our son by living where we do.0 -
No letter for us today although posted on Saturday first class. The nice lady in admissions told me over the phone and we have got our daughter in at our mutually agreed first choice. Her brother goes there so she qualified under sibling rule but 2 weeks ago I got it into my head that I had somehow messed the form up.We are tonight a very smiley relieved family.Fingers crossed for all of you yet to hear and good luck to anyone who needs to appeal.0

It is a really stressful time. We went through it 2 years ago with our eldest son. He didn't get in theonly decent school around. We appealed but were unsuccessful. He went to the allocated school for 7 months but it was a nightmare. We pulled him out and I home schooled him while we waited for his application for a school just outside London to be processed. He got in there and has never looked back.
We should get our letter for our second ds tomorrow but I have to say it is so stress free this time because the school our eldest goes to has a sibling policy.
When we were appealing we found ACE really helpful. (link posted in previous thread) Sometimes places come up even after the allocation. It is useful to keep in touch with the allocations officer weekly.GC 2011 Feb £626.89/£450 NSD3/7 March £531.26/£450 April £495.99/£500 NSD 0/7 May £502.79/£500

will find out tomorrow apparantly - so scared as I've spent three years battling with exoh to let her try for a scholarship only to have her tell me that she wanted to give state school a go first. The nearest school is bl**dy awful and she's scared that she'll be bullied there for being a boffin. GR I would love to homeschool but work 30 hours pw - do you think dwp will be miffed enough to withhold benefits if I give up work to home schoolI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080
