  • Hi Dee.

I can see where your coming from my DD has been doing good in the maths about 26/32, now her English has dropped, I still need her to pull up the last 5/6 marks in every paper.
We had teacher meeting this week, teacher said she is doing good and can't see anything she will struggle with, I think she is rushing the English just to get the paper done. I hope on the day of the tests she can focus more.
  • Im wondering if anyone knows, if the number of kids sitting the aqe in a school is slightly lower than the year before will that make much of a difference to the scores.

I think it would candy kid but I was reading on the AQE website that they got an extra 1400+ forms in the last week. We won't know how many applications till after.
  • I think it would only make a difference if it was a lower number across the board, as in the birth rate that year was lower.
If you are meaning that less children are sitting the exam because their parents, for whatever reason haven't put them in for it, you may well end up with a very inflated 'base' score as only high achieving children will have been entered and therefore score highly, if that makes sense?!
Damn and blast the Halloween holidays, all thoughts of school have flown out the window as my son has two parties to go to and other various lovely things which are way more exciting!

No really annoyed with the school, 1 test paper!! 2 weeks to go to the test and they think it's fine not to give any work with a full week off school
  • Two tests home and they aren't even past papers - ahhh!

Few revision things planned around this too but it's hard when you are working and they are at their grandparents - so the last thing they want to do in the evening is work. DD is doing one of the school tests today while at granny's but that will be it. Feels like we aren't making the most of her time off but at the same time, maybe a good bit of head space will help.
  • My DD was sent home with just 1 paper - how many papers should i do with her???
