Right now I'm having a good laugh at the "extreme thrifty tips" from this week's email

Sounds like a good plan.
I've got a little windfall coming to me and as I have terminal cancer, I've decided to use it on doing nice/fun stuff with my husband while we still can.
So, I've booked two, week long holidays in Dorset, one in May and the other in September, which also coincides with my birthday. Really looking forward to those.
Might have a few weekends away too.
Gigervamp, I'm so sorry to hear your news. You've been a huge part of this Forum for such a long time. I hope you could be one of those people who totally outlive the prognosis.
It's great that you're taking time to do some fun stuff. Enjoy it!

I'm doing something similar, my New Years resolution was to say yes to everything (within reason!!).

I'd love to hear how that goes gunsandbanjos - tell us what you've said yes to!
Does that mean we can ask you to do something and you'll do it?

I'm chicken sitting today :T

My friend has 11 chickens she's asked me to look after and they were very happy to see me this morning. They were totally quiet in their chicken run until I called out to them as I walked down the track.. then they starting talking back to me
As she named one after me it's really funny calling out "Andrea" to the chooks! :rotfl:Could you do with a Money Makeover?

Chickens are great! They all have different personalities, some will be chatty and friendly, others more aloof.
Are they ex-bats?0 -
I'm not sure. She did tell me but I've forgotten! They did come from a farm with several hundred on though and were close to the chop. They've perked up no end in the six weeks or so she's had them.
Happiness is chicken!

Ex commercial hens then.
I bet they're really enjoying their freedom.

I had fun rounding the chickens up! I realised it could take some time but they actually did what they were told and went back in their chicken run quite quickly...
I wish my kids were with me to take note!!
