All I want is a broadband connection. What is my best bet?

I'm moving house soon and I don't want anything except a broadband connection, I'm not bothered about a land line.
Not going to buy a TV licence as I will watch all on 'catch up'.
What's my best bet?
There is an existing Virgin connection.
Thanks

Just chatted with their online chat.
John:
The total price for SuperFibre 50 is £30.25 monthly. You don't need to pay any line rental. It will be a 12 month contract. You will also need to pay £9.99 as service activation fee.
Seems a bit pricey to me..or not? This post was created in an area that may contain nuts!0 -
Sounds about right. Most companies will mark up the price as you're only taking one service. If you're keen on speed you might well want to consider LL+fibre, as I've had nothing but issues with congestion while on Virgin.0

Entirely depends on the local exchange ref congestion.
BT's and its reseller Fibre product cant compete with the VM solution.
My 200-210mb on Cable, 120-160mb on wifi can't be touched by anything using the BT infrastructure.
Value for money is far higher with VM - without a doubt!0 -

Virgin is well known for over subscribing their network. You say BT can't touch virgin but I regularly got 30mb at peak time on my 120mb connection.
Again if the OP is looking for speed he might want to check other options it might be 5 pound more but he'll be getting a consistent 80/20 all the time.

You are aware that BT have a 330Mb fibre to the premises product.0 -

Limited availability though, but the same is true for all VM broadband products, of course.Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230 -

I never said it was, just poster said it couldn't be touched by anything using the BT infrastructure, when it clearly can. Also not so limited if you pay for FTTP on demand (will cost an arm and leg though).0
