I have a question about self-employment self assessment. What figure do you use? Is it 'Direct Purchases'? And if so, at what exchange rate?Mortgage start September 2015 £90000 MFiT #060

I would've thought it would have been profit earned/ monies received? You can see what you've earned by clicking on the banners link. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Would it work if I had 7 months left? (more than than six months but less than twelve months)?
Yes, your Golden expiry should get bumped forward accordingly. I think! If I had five months left?
I think the general idea is that if you have used LESS than half of your Golden Membership, you won't then get 'penalised' by effectively having to purchase it again as part of the $890 Ultimate initial purchase.
This is the way I understand it, though may be an idea to get it confirmed officially.NeoBux member since Aug 2013 | 8848 RRs

Ooh thanks, I haven't looked at that before. So it is a sum of direct purchases and anything sat in your other 'balance' pots.Mortgage start September 2015 £90000 MFiT #060 -

For self employment you need to declare any money actually received. The figure for this can be found in your banners section and chose the banner with money received (not earned) as until you receive anything back you are investing your money and made NO actual profit. Hope that makes sense....
Think of it like buying stock - you don't make any profit until you have sold some and received back more money than you paidcurrently renting refs is like buying stock (sort of :rotfl:)

Soooo, my account is almost at $300 earned and should be there by tomorrow which is a nice way to start a new month
I have been extending refs as usual and now have 21 under the 20 days. This has gone up and down a little as it seems autopay does not actually extend every ref (ie they have to click for it to work)
I now have 57 who haven't clicked yet.
I'm still debating over my next step...
a - keep autopay on and use earnings to rent lots of more refs as fast as possible to get to 1200 then Ultimate...
b - extend all refs up to 240 days to minimise costs
c - start weeding out refs with low averages and recycle
At the min i am leaning towards a but don't think it is the most efficient plan, just an i want to be there now planlol
Oh and i have started with adprize again and won 100 points yesterday

Deposited $5 when I started to get some RR. Now have 15RR in total and $2.113 in funds, so not yet at the point of earning anything.
I've no idea if this is good or not.
I do have autopay on, though, and manually recycled out a couple of the RRs who weren't clicking.Aqua 0/1850 Cap.One 0/450 Vanquis 0/500 HSBC 0/100

Ok lex if you think about it like this:
you paid 15x0.20 to rent your refs = $3 and have $2.11 in funds so you have a combined value of $5.11 right now when you paid $5.
You have the rented refs for 30 days and if autopay is on then most of them should still have 30 days left? So that is 30 days to convert the $3 value into actual cash and hopefully you will get more than $3 back in the 30 days.
It is a bit hard to get your head around at first but it does make sense if you see the money you paid as an investment that should give you more back after the 30 days is over....at least that is how i understand it
From that perspective yes i think it is going well
PS be careful about recycling too early as the cost can negate any profit made. I always wait at least 7 days before recycling (in fact usually i wait 14 and let them change automatically)

Yeah I looked up a "when should I recycle" blog post about it and if they aren't clicking it's cheaper to manually recycle than let them cycle out themselves.
When I say not clicking I mean they hadn't done anything at all, or had clicked one day since I got them. Now I've got better ones who actually click.Aqua 0/1850 Cap.One 0/450 Vanquis 0/500 HSBC 0/100
