Well! I partially took your advice, partially did as you did and partially thought "s*d it! In for a penny, in for a buck!" ;)

So I jumped in today and bought the 3 referrals. However, I also added a few quid from a survey I'd just been paid for and bumped it up to 20 referrals! To er on the side of caution, I left $1 in my referral account to cover the auto payments and I've also already got a bit pending to main balance in 60ish days.

For anyone thinking I'm daft for adding money, I want to make it clear that I only did it because I'm committed to patiently earning it back via clicking adds should the referral thing not work out. I know I could have waited and never invested a cent, but I'm not feeling like it's that big a deal for the sake of what, £3? Most people spend more on a weekly lotto ticket. I'm ok with it ;)

Anyway, outcome is that they are already clicking and earning me money. Can't be that bad, can it?:rotfl:

And thanks everyone for your patience in helping me wrap my brain cells around it all!

  • Well Done Surfchik!

Don't think you are daft at all for investing a bit more. My only rule for myself initially was to not invest real money.....e.g. Only use what I have earnt on line and I class as free money. (I know its time spent earning this money but I guess you will understand what I mean)

Now I have been on the site for a while and understand the future potential......I wouldnt rule out investing real money but would rather not. It does speed things up though.

I woke to find $2.79 in my account this morning so my new refs are starting to click. Am keeping fingers crossed to get to $3 per day once they all start - have 63 with no clicks yet!

Extended others as usual and now have just 24 under 20 days :D

  • Well done Surfchick, sounds like a great start :j

I invested a bit of money too at the beginning. Mainly because I'm impatient but also was really getting into watching my number of referrals grow lol. However I can really understand and appreciate the challenge of not investing but strategically building up your funds. I think it's whatever works for you.

Good to hear your 20 are clicking already. The autopay is a great feature as fairyclicks says. I feel a bit of an idiot because I have recycled some non-clickers but didn't realise that when you recycle, it didn't start the 30 days again so a few have dropped below the 20 days but I am working on those.

I've still got 300 refs and am getting about $2.10 a day so using this to extend.

I'm still undecided about saving points for golden upgrade or paying for it on pay day.

Thanks and yes, that was my view too. if it goes well and the return is more than I'd get from playing with stocks (which I've been partial to in the past) then I might consider investing a little more too. Its all about spreading your bets really isn't it?!

PS just for your info the autopay uses some of their clicking money to pay for the extending so your $1 won't be touched!

Thank you! Slightly confused again though as my additional $1 does seem to be going down. Only by .05c so far, but I assumed that was the autopay. I cants see any other reason for it. Am I being blind?!

Totally agree, same here lol! There are plenty of other things I challenge myself with though, so thought I'd treat myself to a little boost on this one :)

wouldn't beat yourself up, everyone seems to agree Neo is definitely quite complicated initially. We're all going to make little errors here and there. Hindsight is a wonderful thing!!

Looking good! How long did it take you? I'll see how I feel re: paying for upgrade once I eventually get to 300. Could still be a while yet ;)

  • Have $1.35 in my account after renewing some more RRs.

Now have only 30 more to extend for 240 days and then I will have 3 months to concentrate on increasing number of refs and making sure I start the saving for renewal of golden in October.

Hoping to make use of the discount on 24th March so need to refrain from buying any more refs just for now.

Hoping one of the more experienced members can help me out with next question.

I think I read somewhere that if you upgrade to Ultimate and you have less than six months left on your golden membership, this also gets extended to the end date of Ultimate?

If this is right......it gives me a goal.

I will aim for Ultimate a year in April.

Will give me time to get to the magic 500 refs (or more) all extended for 240 and hopefully a decent amount in the pot to pay for Ultimate.

    I WILL get there! :D

I didn't benefit from this when upgrading, but certainly read about it once upon a time. This is taken from the very extensive FAQ thread on the Neo forum:

"This applies to Ultimate Pack only.

If you have 6 months or more (but less than 12 months) left from your golden membership and you upgrade to Ultimate pack you'll also get your current Golden membership extended to the end of the Ultimate Pack's year.

ex. If you upgrade to ultimate pack on 12/2/2013 both golden membership and ultimate pack will expire on 12/2/2014."

I believe you are perfectly correct in your reasoning.

  • Oh heck so now Im confused.

Would it work if I had 7 months left? (more than than six months but less than twelve months)?

    Or:

If I had five months left?

Thanks for confirming for me though Snow :D

Got a while for me to get it right. :rotfl:
