Parcelhero Issue

Sorry i should have said how i packaged them, each item is exacly same size, i cut out 1 cardboard circle that fit over the centre of the wheel and used that as a template for the other 9, but not the tyre, so no over hang from the cardboard as it was less than 20" in diameter, then each one had a black bag wrapped round it tighly and then cellotaped.
I sent the exact same wheel with same dimensions via parcelforce last december with no issues at all, reading the reviews on google this seems to be an occuring thing with parcelforce.
Thanks for replies folks
I would query it - they should also have a photo of the item - as the system phots, weighs and dims the shipment as it goes down a belt.
This sounds very dodgy if all wheels were tightly wrapped in plastic.
Dims are big money to the couriers - all of them now do this - it may be that they only introduced these dim measurement systems at your depot/hub since you last sent (hence you weren't impacted previously).
Must admit, I would be pushing back - I am surprised they have come to you direct though - as you used Parcel Hero's account to ship this, so its Parcel Hero who are on the hook for the money directly, not you.
Unless you are saying the ParcelHero site just took you though to ParcelForce's site to make you pay them direct with a credit/debit card?
Its just odd that Parcel Force would have the access to your account otherwise...0 -
ParcelHero are a parcel reseller. They are not a courier. They are like Expedia is to travel.
The OP says they were contacted by Parcel Force about the measurement, so its assumed they were the carrier the OP was introduced to using through the Parcelhero interface.
So they did, serves me right for skim reading!0 -
Sorry I was tired last night, it was parcel hero who emailed me not parcel force, the courier was UPS who collected and signed for the items with no issue.
The lady on the phone says she has the photo evidence of the dimensions from ups but will not and does not need to show me, I as the customer need to prove I was right because in her words I could be lying and trying to rip them off.
She said that they win all their cases that go to court.2x £5 JD Voucher

Shes talking garbage.
Tell them to take you to court if they wont share the photographic evidence. The court will not take kindly to their attitude.
If she has the evidence ask her to explain to you how four round, solid items are a different size?
I find it very VERY odd that she has the photo evidence when UPS don't provide this as standard and must be requested.
It does not surprise me that she is being the way she is, parcel re sellers do get all sorts of chancers, but this is not the point.
ps. if its UPS they had dims last year too.0 -
I asked for the photo evidence but she continued to say they don't have to show me it, I need to prove them wrong, with the original package and label, which I just cannot do. If the error is mine and they show me the evidence I will gladly pay the difference, however it's the attitude and accusing Me of trying to rip them off that annoys me.
Why wait 2 weeks to invoice me with a weight adjustment asking me to prove my dimensions, when my evidence is long gone.2x £5 JD Voucher

Could you pay the extra, speak to your buyer, get him to take photos of the dimensions, then take the courier to court to get the money back?
I would not back down on this one!!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Hi I have spoken to the buyer and asked him for pictures, but the lady from parcel hero said they won't accept anything other than the original packaged item with the delivery label on it, I can't even print of the labels either as they are removed from my parcelhero account, so zero chance of proving my dimensions.2x £5 JD Voucher

Or just tell them that you dispute their findings and you will await their court summons for a court to decide.0

Latest reply I asked for evidence of dimensions.
Hi Steven,
We have now received confirmation from the carrier of their audited dimensions as follows in centimetres.
76*74*29
74*73*29
78*70*28
72*70*28
82*74*30
If you do not agree with the courier’s measurements and weights, you needed to have provided us with some evidence to refute their audit findings.
Unfortunately the courier has charged as per the weights and dimensions detailed above. When we emailed you on 5 February with your invoice details we stated that if I do not receive your appeal within the next 5 working days we will have no choice but to take payment for the charges detailed, which we have attempted. We will send you a PayPal invoice in the next working day and you can use this to pay by card by following the link within.
If I can be of any further assistance, or you wish to discuss further, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

I've had the exact same thing (as have lots of other people https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.parcelhero.com) Trying to charge me over £100 extra.
OP, what happened in the end?
They seem like total scammers so I've written to Citizen's Advice. We'll see what happens...0
