Thanks everyone re win. It's a bit surreal with so much else happening this week.

My sister was admitted to hospital with a bowel blockage on Wednesday afternoon and it's still not resolved. She only has a tiny part of the small intestine left as over the years she has had 13 operations. She's terrified of having another one as it would be very difficult but blockages can be life threatening. What with DS and DD1,needing us this week I have been unable to go to hospital, which is a long way away.I have had two brief phone conversations with her today. She said she was tired with her husband and daughter being there. She has a rare condition where the muscles of her bowel didn't work. She is such a get up and go person but this is the worst she has been.
I only have one sister and a brother. My sister came into Madeira on a cruise when we were there and was not very well that day with breathing problems. She was sixty in the summer and she still works full time under new pension regulations. Do hope we have some good news soon.

look whos back! Hope you have all been ok,sorry to hear about your sister Leanfun,hope shes on the mend really soon.I am fine,been busy just lately,havent stopped,work at a shop called British Heart foundation where I live and thats going very well,I also help another charity Volunteering in Health where I live and thats another one of my jobs,I have now left Slimming World and doing the diet myself,I am now in a happy place but still need to lose weight.Sorry to have been away so long but wanted to update you all on my progress.

Sorry to hear about your sister Leanfun xx Hope she gets better soon and you get to go and visit her. My young niece has a battery pack (pacemaker type of thing) in her body to keep the muscles in her bowel working too. She gets it replaced or battery checked every so often. I can only imagine how tiring it must be for your sister xx Well done on your great win :j

Good Morning,

Been raining heavily all night but supposed to be a nice day now.

Sorry about your sister leanfun and hope she recovers soon. One of our neighbours got taken into hospital with a blockage in the summer and had a big operation but he is back to fitness now. He missed his Spanish holiday though which was a shame as they have so many commitments to family most of the time.
Sorry forgot to say, well done on another lovely win.

Had a message from DS3 saying they had had snow at Gleneagles and how funny it was to watch some of the foreign staff who had never seen it before. Poor DD is still waiting to find out where her placement is and she is suposed to start a week on Monday. They seem to have made a right mess of things and she isn't getting any replies to emails as they are so busy so she is not happy. At least she did really well in her exam and has this week off. Some others have to go in and resit or they won't be allowed on their placements. Nursing courses seem to be so hard compared to other Uni ones. I know several people who tried it when they were older and quit. She says a few people have dropped out already. Just hope she can get everything organised as she still can't drive as she can't get a test date locally anytime soon.

Leanfun Sorry to read that your sister is so ill at the moment. Hoping that the doctors can do an operation to try and improve things. Congratulations on your win!

Sheils Great that DD has passed the exam and has a week off before her placement. Hope that she manages to find out soon where the placement will be. As a non-driver myself a bit of notice is always useful to plan things out as some hospitals are not the easiest to get to.

Morning everyone. Was tipping it down most of the night but at least it is not so cold at the moment. Thinking of your DS leanfun and wishing her a speedy recovery. Well done to your DD shiels and hope she gets word of a placement soon. Got slow cooker on with soup for DIL and GK's. Will take it up later as their other gran has them today. There is an Elemis TSV on QVC tonight so may break out bank card and treat myself depending on what it compromises of. Running out of cleanser and moisturiser. Love Elemis and Decleor.
