Thanks everyone for your kind wishes. Just had a call from my sister. Staff were with her all night and the blockage has cleared with the medication. Doctor has been around and was so pleased the medicine has cleared it as he did not want to operate. It's been a long time since Wednesday and it's so dangerous. She still sounds very ill and is frightened to eat but will try something light. They had moved her to a room on her own in a private ward so she has had the best treatment possible. Her daughter had taken her to a hospital near her home. My sister has not had good treatment from her nearest hospital in the past. If she eats and the bag works they will let her home tomorrow. True to form I said you'll need some time to get over this. Her reaction was well I won't go to work Monday! I think this is going to take longer to get over.

Sheils congratulations on your daughter's start to her course. It's bad that they are so disorganised hope she has news of her placement soon. We haven't watched much TV lately but did catch a bit of weather forecast and saw snow up north. When adults see snow for the first time they are so excited. Brrrr.

Hope everyone has a good and lucky weekend.

    Hi everyone

It's been raining puddy cats n' doggies here from early this
    morning

    graphics-weather-437999.gif

... only just easing off now thank goodness! :p

I've been watching the Lord Mayor's Show - live coverage.
Love it! Even though it's pouring with rain they've got a
brilliant turnout of people thoroughly enjoying it. :T

leanfun - I'm so very sorry to hear of your sister being
in poor health. Thank goodness though that the
medication has worked and she will not require another
operation to clear the blockage. Must be such a relief.

I do hope, all being well, that your DS will be allowed
    home tomorrow. :A xxx

Very well done on your fabulous win - absolutely
    brilliant! :T

 Hi Katie! It's wonderful to 'see' you. :) Very well
done with carrying on slimming yourself. :T  Brilliant
to hear that you're keeping very busy working for the British
Heart Foundation and Volunteering in Health - excellent and
    very worthwhile charities. :T

Have just been reading on MSN Entertainment there are calls for Honey G to be removed from X Factor as she has admited she used to take Class A drugs but now only smokes Class C "Because she is real." Don't know if there is any truth in it but for goodness sake.

Thanks everyone re DD. She was pretty chuffed with herself as she has always had to work really hard at things and never usually gets the results she deserves.
I have been doing Xmas shopping (online) and discussing presents with the family.

Loving all your pics Alfie and FF.

Good news about your sister leanfun.

Go for it rose. We don't treat ourselves enough.

Soup delivered along with a dish of lasagne. So kiddywinks are happy. Will save DIL or her mum cooking. So guess what I am having tonight lol. Emergency sirens were going mad on way home police and ambulances were racing along street under blue lights then fire engine pulled out along with ladder engine. So I am presuming there was a fire in the tower blocks which I passed on way but didn't notice any smoke. Enjoy your online shopping shiels you will probably get better prices than the shops and it saves a lot of hassle. Have ordered the Amazon Echo for DS and DIL so just got something personal like perfume/aftershave or an Amazon card to get them. Just got DS and GK's after that. Then all done apart from some sweets/chocs ,wrapping paper and cards methinks. Just managed to find the QVC TSV for tomorrow online and half of it is mine other half is going to DIL so that is her sorted.

Good for you treating yourself Rose :) Is that Amazon echo the one that's advertised on tv where it says....'Alexa, play my favourite playlist' ?

Fire**fly, I've got my slow cooker on too doing beef stew but I'm gonna save it for tomorrow now instead after sons football. Did you make the crusty cobs yourself? Mine usually turn out stodgy! :o

That's good news about your sis leanfun, glad she's improving but I can imagine how worried she must feel eating again bless her xx

Not been raining here Alfie but it's still damp from all of last nights heavy rain. I've had to put clothes in dryer. Glad you liked video, I was wondering when someone would put on a spoof take of the John Lewis ad! I think all the shops are trying to compete now for the best ads this Xmas but I still like the John Lewis one! :)

Hope you've had a good day Sylvia and managed to get some time for yourself.

Well managed to get sons bike for Xmas so that's another present out of the way.
A neighbour was telling us about a lot of cars getting damaged around us by someone going around and scratching them with a key or something. It turned out to be a 60 year old woman from the other end of our road! She was caught on CCTV by a neighbour whose jag she had scratched! There was no motive for it, just jealousy I think. We live on a quiet road too so wouldn't expect that from someone around us.

Yes wingo. They are in to their tech especially son. I think it is fab and have been on techy wedsites and most of them rate it. Would love to get up in the morning bleary eyed and say alexa do this do that and it is done unfortunately Alexa does not do hoovering dusting and ironing or make me a cuppa. Fabby wingo kids love a bike and can't wait to get on to it on christmas morning. Wingo that is shocking someone doing that to a car what an a**hole. Hate peeps who have no respect. I am very quiet here as well but if someone came here and did that I'm afraid police would have to deal with both of us because I would just go after them big style. I respect but anyone who does not then beware.

I agree Rose, what would we do without hoovers and washing machines now!
Yeah I couldn't believe it when neighbour said who it was. Just glad she got caught.

That is dreadful about your neighbour wingo - such a nasty thing to do.
Cars are so expensive to repair.
Glad you got your Ds's bike, they are so awkward to get and then hide and then need so much wrapping paper! ;)
