DIY Housewarming Gift - Your Most-Used Kitchen Utensil?

Measuring Jug - where you can actually see the measures! had a cheap wilco one but could never see the lines on it (the numbers are same colour as the plastic!) Bought a pack of two new ones from an independent pound shop - makes measuring stuff so much easier (the cost me a whole £1 for the pack of two).
Second many of the above items too!
I still have my first pyrex jug from when I was first married almost 30 years ago. My mother put together a set of essential kitchen things for me which included this jug. After 20 years of going in dishwasher you can no longer see markings but the "new" one I bought about 10 years ago still has the markings - guess they are now made more dishwasher proof.
I have to say my clear pyrex dishes are my kitchenware staples. They have outlasted all my other oven to tablewear.

I think there should be a thread dedicated to useless kitchen gadgets too as a warning, the kind of thing you are seduced into buying at the Ideal Home Show etc and then end up never using!

What a good idea! I used to be a complete sucker and had a draw full of things like something to boil or poach an egg in the microwave!

Hmm, I'd add a silicon spatula (never thought I'd say that, but mine is by far the most used thing in my kitchen) and another size of wooden spoon. Possibly a ladle? Apologies if already mentioned
Not sure how you are planning to do the presentation, would it maybe fit in a large measuring jug? This sounds like a fab housewarming gift btw, I'm going to try to remember it for future:AStarting again on my own this time!! - Defective flylady! :A0 -
