Why would a " trader" list their items like this?

Incorrect on both counts-it was just a link that came up in a specific Google search.
Then I don't understand what the issue is. Either this is a UK listed auction that someone has bought from and now has issues, or it is a random search and for some reason someone has picked up a Chinese translation of a UK page.
I felt it was implied that somehow this was a Chinese listed item available in the UK , as that seemed to be of concern on the thread. That is not the case and whilst it still doesn't make this 'right' it does look less dodgy once you see the actual listing. Obviously other concerns still remain, but Being listed outside the UK is not one of them.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. As its not my issue, I am looking at every aspect of this outfits transgressions.
In many searches that have been carried out on them, this was one tiny thing we weren't sure about.
I didnt personally understand how it's been translated on a Hong Kong site.
No one was logged in, it came up on a Google search.
I've not really got endless time to dissect every element.
It was simply ruling out that this wasnt something Deliberately devious
There's enough on this company as it stands.0 -
There is another thing that will make them appear even more dodgy... Lets see if that happens...Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

Is there a specific reason the OP has decided to put this on this board.
From my understanding, it isn't an issue the OP has and we don't even know if the buyer bought on ebay or not.0 -
If you read the link I posted..
And yes , I posted here to clarify an eBay related question .0 -

Assuming they bought over 6 months ago then a buyer has the right to get an independent survey to show that there was an inherent fault in the product which requires a remedy from the seller. The legal aspect does not change regardless of where they bought it as long as this was a UK sale. The issue will be finding a geographic address that papers can be served on if report shows an inherent fault and seller will not remedy.
This all really hinges on consumer law, any time limit for a remedy via ebay has passed.
Also, seller breaching ebay rules is an entirely different matter and makes no difference to the facts of this case. It is time to concentrate on legal aspects of company and purchase.
The issue might be that buying a man made suite that has now worn might be as simple as product quality which would not require a remedy- and buyer needs to consider how much money they want to spend persuing this. The only other option is to see whether there is any simpler remedy via their payment method.
I am a little confused now so to clarify- if this is an ebay issue then buyer is out of time to seek a remedy via ebay and any ebay policy breaches is immaterial and the time to worry about those was before purchase, not some time afterwards.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Also to further clarify the only issues I have with this listing (which may or may not be the one Buyer bought from )

is
1) Stated as leather in item title and item specifics but states not leather in item description.
2) phone number in item description could imply seller is trying to trade 'off ebay'
3) poor feedback
Frankly issue no 2 is immaterial really as it is ebay that needs to worry about fee avoidance, and regardless of that all sellers have their contact details on all listings under the contact button anyway.
Issue 1 should have been spotted by any buyer actually reading the description and reported at the time, yes it is extremely misleading and should be reported, but buyers shouldn't be throwing money away by buying things without actually bothering to read the description first.
Issue 3, buyers can choose whether or not they want to bother reading feedback- it is there for a reason after all. It might be that the buyer in this instance bought before all the poor feedback went up- but then with so little feedback showing it makes even more sense for a buyer to do a little research if buying from a new seller with little feedback with prices that are too good to be true.

The entire furniture retail sector seems guilty of that one, clearly the material described as "bonded leather" pretty misleading, as it's just some man made material with bits of leather chucked in the mix.

How they have described it is just a small part of this.0
