Webuyanycar.com value a car I'm interested in at a BMW garage at £4900 but they are selling it for £8000. That seems high?

Don't use webuyanycar for valuation, try glass's guide0

Sounds about right. WBAC will offer you the bottom end trade in on it, as they'll fire it straight into auction.0

Everyone from Webuyanycar to the dealer will want a profit, that's where the other £3000 goes.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

As said on your other thread,
Do you do your job for free?
Do you get your fuel, shopping, electrical items direct from the supplier?
The business will have overheads to pay. They are there to offer a service. If you don't want to pay it buy off a private seller for less.0 -
This seems to be happening quite often of late...

Seems, this seems to be a waste of my time...that is 900 nicka in any shop your luckly enough to find one in and your complaining about 200....what school of finance did you study....its a deal....its a steal...its sale of the fuc........
You know !!!!0 -
why are you posting twice?0

So if the dealer buys from BCA Auctions (who owns WBAC), they may pay the price offered by WBAC or more. Plus the buyer's fee. Then they need to get the car delivered to the dealership. Prep, any mechanical issues to be rectified, MOT, any work needed to be done to pass the MOT, valet, cost of warranty, vat.
All of the above comes at a price (parts plus labour). Plus the salesperson's wages. Plus the cost of maintaining the dealership plus profit.
What do you expect is fair for a £4900 sold at WBAC car to be sold at a dealership???0 -
WBAC pay less than the hammer price.
The difference is though that the dealer has got one for sale and WBAC haven't.
The best thing the OP can do is buy one at auction...and best of luck with that, they will skin an amateur private buyer alive.
The best guide to car prices is NOT glass, CAP, WBAC or parkers.
It's do a search on auto trader for the same thing and see what they are asking...but bear in mind there are 3 or more markets on auto trader, in order from cheapest to dearest
Fly by night kerbside dealers selling cat c/d or clocked cars with major hidden faults/ doctored history
Private sellers, varying from completely genuine to as bad as above
sub prime dealers selling 'not quite good enough for a main dealer' cars due to non franchise servicing, lots of previous paintwork, unwanted specs/ colours etc
Full main dealers selling the better quality used examples franchise only servicing, lower miles, a service before sale, etc
so you need to careful.0
