Thanks. I hadn't seen that before. Just watched a few more of them, and like this one a lot too:

Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Please forgive my proud parent/boasting moment.....

Got youngest's autumn report this morning and it is so so good, best one I have ever received.

For class effort he scores 1*
For out of class effort he scores 1*
For personal organisation he scores 1*

1* is the highest you can get (it goes 1* down to 3, 3 meaning inadequate) and means outstanding with behaviour strongly beneficial to progress.

For grades, his ALPS minimum taget grade was Distinction, Merit, Merit. His actual current predicted grade is Distinction*, Distinction*, Distinction* (equivalent to 3 x A* at A2).

So far he has received distinctions in all the units he has completed over the last 14 or so months and is sitting right at the top of the class. Not bad for a student who was written off by his previous school as not able.

I'm a bit of a chuffed mum today.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Indeed, yes. It's just so easy for pupils to fit in with teachers' expectations. I'm so pleased that he rose above that.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

For some time now, my Sainsbury Local has been asking me if I want a receipt when I've paid, presumably to save paper, and not as a tax fiddle! :D

However, I always say I'll have one. The till is at the opposite end of the store from the door, and I don't necessarily always put my purchase into my bag. A paper receipt is the only thing proving I'm not a shop-lifter! Of course I want a receipt!

It then goes in the recycling bin at home.

    Don't quote, will delete.

You're perfectly entitled to have a party wall surveyor acting, paid for by the owners of the adjoining land.

It's easy - google party wall surveyor + your location. Pick any of them, because even a poor party wall surveyor is vastly better than none at all.

You really need to do this before these cowboys next door damage your property any more.

    ... cowboys ...
I wouldn't call them cowboys. I've had a couple of minor blips, which could happen to anybody.

I'm sure it'll be put right in the end without issue.

I wasn't born in the "sue them" generation, so am pretty laid back about it so far.

Let's not forget ... the builders will need to keep on my good side else I could start playing loud rock music and swearing the "F" word loudly every time they have a Show House open day or viewing just 10' away :)

How is he feeling about it - as chuffed as you are?

Took it all in his stride, he's not the most emotional of people and gives nothing away but I think (at least I hope) he was happy. There was no cheers or high fives or whooping just a matter of fact statement and a forwarding on of the email report.
