The thing is that Yves Klein invented that particular shade of blue. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Klein_Blue

Plus, the photo doesn't show any of the fine surface detail.

Still, paying a couple of million Pounds for it seems decidedly odd. Presumably, it's based on the assumption that it will appreciate in value.
There's a bit of controversy about colours that artists use, with Anish Kapoor having recently obtained exclusive rights to use the blackest black, and in retaliation, another artist who's invented the pinkest pink, making purchasers declare that they're not (or are not working for) Anish Kapoor.

I'd like to own the world's purpliest purple.

Funnily enough, purple used to be prohibited to everyone except the emperor, 'cos the dye they used was so expensive to make.

I must admit, that videoclip with the crumpled foil was interestingly weird! And weirdly interesting!

Hehe, that reminds me of a Father Ted episode.

I had to carry a pile of empty cardboard boxes downstairs, glanced over the banister and saw there was nobody there, so chucked them over.

Unfortunately, the mutt is almost exactly the same colour as the hall carpet. :o

    Just missed her, fortunately.

Is the dog the same colour as the carpet by coincidence or design? I had a friend a while ago who planned her dog/carpet matching, but I can't remember if she got the dog to match the carpet or the carpet to match the dog.

Indeed. At one stage of Roman history, I think different degrees of nobility were allowed different widths of purple stripes on their togas. The person after whom my screen name is chosen was a "dealer in purple" in Philippi, and therefore presumably a high end businesswoman. I chose her for being a strong independent female character making a success of herself in a society where women didn't usually get much power.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Pure coincidence. I can assure you that having a dog the same colour as the carpet is a dreadful trip hazard.

I'm now going through my mental list of 6-letter swear words to try and decipher the censoring.

    Nope. Dunno.

I've obviously led a sheltered life. :rotfl:

Bizarrely, not all the filters are swear words.
