There was just a HUGE thump that made the house rattle.... so I trotted up to my viewing platform. Nothing going on near me - it was about 30' away ... that's all OK then, whatever it was doesn't concern me. There's a dumper-sized super skip just 6' from my fence, so keen to monitor that activity/spot.
Then I popped outside to get my post... and I realised there are TWO JCBs today. And I saw one had it's arm hooked over/past a phone line - and I saw him moving ... and it got caught up and I thought "I hope he knew/intended to do that" as I saw the wire ping and break free. Then I wondered "hope that's got nothing to do with my Internet" .... so here I am testing
I'm still online - and the phone works.0 -

I've just eaten my tea - as I can't decide whether I'm going out or not.
On balance, I don't see the point.
It's Xmas Lights Switch on. Now, I'm not overly bothered - and most are disappointing. Plus, it's just a massive crowd-fest and all the shops will be open to sell you stuff; stuff I don't want, don't need, etc.
So - I don't particularly like xmas lights, nor switch ons, nor crowds - and have no need/desire to go shopping.
So, should I bother to drive 8 miles to the town, to then find and pay for a parking spot ... to then stand in the crowded cold until there's a cheer and some bulbs light up .... followed by plodding aimlessly round a town looking at things I have no intention of buying ....? Then finally driving home again, probably on crowded roads as everybody else leaves the area.
Or should I stay in?
So I had my tea early just in case I do change my mind and do fancy it.0 -

You had it very early, even for afternoon tea. I'd have called it lunch and skipped tea, unless I decided to stay in - in which case I'd have tea as well0 -

Yes, I'd have said it was lunch.
Then have afternoon tea/tea.
Then have dinner.
Finish off with a nice light supper before bedtime.(I just lurve spiders!)

I once asked on a thread if anyone had ever discovered that someone they knew was a username they had conversed with on a forum, but not realised.
It would be even funnier if it turned out that their mortal thread-enemy was someone they knew!(I just lurve spiders!)

It would appear that there is a twist to the T&Cs i this year's Sainsbury's Nectar double promotion (on now). Previously if you returned an item you would get back the points you had spent. This year the T&C suggest you get back in cash the cost of what you purchased. So buy a £40 item using £20 of nectar points and return it for £40 of C A S H.
I have £500 of Nectar points - it looks like Christmas may have come earlyI think....0 -

Are they mad?
I predict a mad flurry of items being returned!
They might just as well let you exchange the points for cash and cut out the having to buy something bit!(I just lurve spiders!)

The 1300 sounds about right if you are sedentary. Doing 700 calories exercise in order to eat more pies is pretty hard work - around two hours a day brisk walking for me, but probably a bit more for you.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
