Pastures OH uses a non-slip step with its own hand rail. He finds it a huge help getting in and out of the bath. It's nice and sturdy and doesn't tip up (or do anything else at all worrying) when he uses it. I can't remember which company he bought it from, probably someone like "Cooper's of Stortford". I can ask him if you like0

Pastures ... non-slip step with its own hand rail. ...
It's OK, the bath's got the handy tiled shelf at the back of it, which is good. I actually sit down on that, then wipe my feet before putting them down on the bathmat
To be honest ... there's no room in the bathroom for steps anyway - and I'd be a danger to myself.
Bathroom's tiny. Standing at the door, you push the door open - but not too far as the loo's right behind it. There is a sink immediately to your right. The door almost touches the bath - in fact I can only put the bathmat down when I'm in the bathroom and the door's closed behind me as there's no room for it.
To get into the bathroom you have to be normal sized and "squeeze" yourself against the bath so you can close the door behind you - and only then can you see the loo that was behind the door
The towel rail is on the wall beside the loo - I can't actually reach it very well, so have to hold the bath towel up in my arms then "throw" it at the radiator, hoping that the top part will land behind the radiator, so I can then just tug at it a little bit to get it spread out a bit better... this can take three goes0 -

I could do with one of those! Or at least take a look at one to see if it might help. Really having problems getting my leg over (shut up Michaels!) the side of the bath, and then it's a reach when getting out too.

OK ... so that was a bit of a shock .... house suddenly shook. Bit of a muted "thump" outside. The JCB took down a whole chimney stack in one - one of those unsupported stacks that goes up in the air about 10'.
Blimey ... it's getting closer0 -
Just heard a lovely story on the news, about a pair of twins who were born as the clocks went back in the USA. The first one was born, the clocks went back, then the second was born. This means that on their birth certificates the younger one looks older. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

I saw that one.
There's another one floating about: two non-twins, born on the same day. Both were separate pregnancies, 10 days apart. So one egg was fertilised and started growing - and 10 days later another one started growing beside it.
Due to both be delivered on days 10 days apart, they ended up being born on the same day, but are completely different sizes.0 -

Luckily it's on a channel that has a +1 channel option, so I'm watching it on there
I wish I had "record the telly" functionality, but it really does go right over my head how one achieves that
Make sure you get one that let's you record one channel while you can watch another.
It's very easy to record stuff. You just bring up 'Guide' on the remote, and click in the programmes you want to record. Or just click record on the remote and it will start recording the channel you're on. The you can turn to another channel.vivatifosi wrote: »Just heard a lovely story on the news, about a pair of twins who were born as the clocks went back in the USA. That's going to cause a lorra lorra arguments later on! :rotfl:
Seriously, though, what is the legal view of that? I mean, some forms of inheritance might go to the older child. Eg a title, heirdom to the throne etc.
Which is legally the older child? The one who emerged first, or the one with the earlier time on the certificate?
I'd hate to be that judge!(I just lurve spiders!)

Yes, a Freeview box with a record function.

To be honest ... of my current remote, I don't really use many of the buttons.
I'll take a look at some point for these magical boxes that record.
Roughly how much can be recorded on such a box?0 -

Stacks and stacks!
Varies between models. I think mine is around 250 hours, but you can get models that store a lot more than that.
Mine is also 8-days in advance, so I can programme a whole weeks worth to record. (I fall asleep and miss loads otherwise.)
Also, if you record progs, you can fast forward through any ads!(I just lurve spiders!)

Blimey, that IS a lot.... I thought you'd be saying 3-5 hours or something.
I presume I buy it, remove my existing freeview box and simply slot the new one into the gap?
What about if I plug in the telly I've got here that's got inbuilt freeview? How does recording work with one of those?
So: wall socket -> modern telly with inbuilt freeview.
I'm just thinking that once I see the prices of a freeview/record box I might decide it's worthwhile me trying to get a telly to work by plugging it into the socket in the wall instead of staring at it and thinking "must get round to trying that out again some time"0
