If you eat any of these, they are really cheap (and good) for:
    * Pains au chocolat, they are in individual packets so don't need eating in one go and are long dated. Never really got into these; tried a couple and they're "nice enough", but I see them as foods to be avoided unless I REALLY want them as they're high calorie/low volume
    * Breakfast cereals, I love their granola. Never really been a breakfast eater; I eat L*dl Weetabix, but the last packet's been sitting in the cupboard for months.
    * Biscuits. Not big on biscuits, I think I like the idea, but am disappointed, so try to not buy them that often (calories)
    * Bread I tend to mix it up by alternating bread, crumpets, muffins, pittas. Bread's a bit boring, but it does make toast :)
    * Super 6 fruit and veg (changes weekly). I tend to stick, these days, to frozen veg. Fruit I tend to stick with bananas.
    * Fresh meat. Not big on this, since getting the slow cooker I can buy a pack of mince once a month or so and throw it in.
    * Cheese. I just buy "cheapest cheddar", if the price is right and it's mature, that's all I ask of it.
    * Yoghurts. Never eaten. Hate the thought of them :)
    * Seasonings. Not even sure what this is, put me down as a low volume consumer
    * Rice pudding. Tinned? I bought a 15p tin, I like rice pudding.
    * Chocolate. Not really big on that, the 30p bars will do.
    * Tortillas/nuts/snacky stuff. Not big on this, I try to limit it as it's all high calories/not a meal.
    * UHT milk is cheaper than anywhere else. Eewwww, nasty stuff :)

I saw that their range of frozen veg is bigger than L*dl's range.
The shop's close enough for me to walk to, so it's not a hassle to keep popping in and discovering new things here and there over the coming months.

I like the idea of rice pudding, and I found some Ambrosia tinned rice at the back of the cupboard. It was yellowish, so I thought it had gone off and threw it away. I bought a new tin, and it was the same colour, so that's intentional apparently. It had a mushy texture, and it didn't taste of anything. So, I think it must be an acquired taste, like Marmite.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Marmite's not an acquired taste; you either love it or hate it, surely?

My big thing with food is texture. Food has to have texture - so definitely no to yogurts and most sauces.

Their bread products of all sorts are pretty cheap and good.. the muffins, pitta, crumpets and so on... tablet wanted to change last part of that to pirates and trumpets. To the best of my knowledge they have never sold either of those.

In terms of household, which is entirely random and changes weekly, we've had some good bargains. Dining chairs, two for £40, little modern nest of tables, one of those indoor airers that has arms like a rotary drier. They do little non stick pots and pans every so often. This week they have cheap coats and gilets, the latter my tablet is trying to change to fillets, which they also sell, unlike trumpets.

I think Ambrosia is "thick" and creamy. I've been eating the 15p cans from supermarkets - trouble is I can't remember which are good/not. I think the Mr T one is good... a couple are a bit watery, but I think it's the Mr T ones that are "just about right". 15p, I eat half a can with a spoon of jam. I'm hoping the A*di ones will be like the Mr T ones, not watery.

Half a can of rice pudding is a great "quick/micro something immediately" meal :)

I was with you until your last sentence. Rice pudding should be eaten cold!

I'll keep an eye on the household/specials. Right now the one down the road has mini ovens (£20), but I've got one - and slow cookers £12.99, but I've got one. Lots of things one's eyes are drawn to... I did see a small folding airer. I should pop down and buy one, I do NEED one as one washing load really spreads to two airers when it's time to bring it inside and it's only £9. It might even fit in the bath, which'd be handy sometimes if handwashing small items.

It looks like there are some "new store" bargains, but you can't really tell unless you'd actually seen those items priced higher elsewhere ... and I don't buy things just because I'm told they're offers .... I have to wait until I see a need for them.

Adult clothes don't fit me. I really struggle to find any clothes that fit me, which is why I stick with "random, scruffy, ill-fitting, baggy clothes". I am not adult-sized ... except in one area ... so I can't even just buy the "aged 13" ranges as the tops wouldn't fit. Also Aged 13 lines tend to have Barbie or diamantes :)

I bet they're selling pirates this week - and probably trumpets closer to Xmas. As for fillets, they're in the food aisles :)

That news article... I heard it on Radio 4, there was a serious newsreader who gave the headline, but then nothing was said about why. I think it is one of the most bizarre news items ever.

So tired last night that I forgot about the clocks going back, not so much of an issue nowadays because phones and computers automatically do it but I still had to check to make sure they had with my alarm clock which still has to be done manually.

Today I feel like I have been hit over the head, after drinking 20 pints whilst covered in a toffee sludge...none of which has actually happened.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.
