Joe loves Lincoln and especially the uni...now number 1 choice.
Best open day I have been on too, so well organised, very talkative tutors and students and a personal tour of the labs where Joe got to test out a new VR experience to see any bugs/glitches ahead of the main tour/talk (we happened to turn up at the subject stand at just the right time).We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

That sounds great Sue
Pastures New We've a new Ald1 quite near us too! only opened today, so haven't been there yet, but I bet the local Sa1nsbury's will be spitting tacks.

Depending on what he's looking at studying, I may be able to put you in touch with someone that's studying there already to speak with.💙💛 💔0 -
Half the battle with settling in at university is knowing somebody there who can show you the ropes and help you to fit in. I usually recommend my students should look for ads to buy their textbooks from older students, not simply to save money but to make a contact with somebody who survived that bit of the course, and might give them a heads-up on any pitfalls or obstacles, and advice for how to get through it.There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0

I'll speak to someone (who did some work for me over summer), and see if she knows anyone who may be able to answer any questions you have re the course, student life etc.
I know she's going back to HK next summer, so final year, which may or not be most helpful, but willing to try my best for you💙💛 💔0 -
A friend's son has just graduated - I can't for the life of me remember if it was from Lincoln or Stafford - in computer games design. Not sure of the exact course title.
He's decided he's not as keen on the actual programming but prefers other aspects.0 -
Pastures, Aldi is great. Once it settles down, you'll find a time of week that works for you when it isn't so busy.
If you eat any of these, they are really cheap (and good) for:
* Pains au chocolat, they are in individual packets so don't need eating in one go and are long dated.
* Breakfast cereals, I love their granola
* Biscuits
* Bread
* Super 6 fruit and veg (changes weekly)
* Fresh meat
* Cheese
* Yoghurts
* Seasonings
* Rice pudding
* Chocolate
* Tortillas/nuts/snacky stuff.
* UHT milk is cheaper than anywhere else
I'm not so keen on their regular veg as they can go off more quickly, though salad is generally ok. Haven't tried the ready meals or pizzas, and don't eat fish (DH eats meat, I'm veggie). This sounds really unhealthy, but I've tried to do it in the order that it is laid out in the supermarket rather than the amount of stuff that I buy.
I also check every Thursday to see what their special buys are for the following week. I've had some fantastic buys.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Joe likes the other aspects too, he wasn't quite convinced he enjoyed the programming side though as he hasn't enjoyed it at college but has found he actually quite likes it when he does it at home. Think it may be down to how it is being taught (fine for everyone else but doesn't suit him), so he did his own research, found some online tuition resource thing that he could resonate with and cracked it.
Back home now, absolutely shattered, bones and everything else aching and some bruises where Joe didn't see a hole and I was pretty much catapulted out of the wheelchair. To be fair, I missed spotting the hole too so it wasn't his fault.
It was a good trip away but by goodness am I glad to get home...Joe hasn't had the practice at pushing the wheelchair as Josh liked to do it all the time and boy can I feel it....on the plus side, the ultimate can't make a decision person has made a final decision :rotfl:We made it!
