In our old house we had a bath with shower over for which the original patent seal failed after its 20 year life span after which neither I nor anyone else managed to stop it leaking however much sealent was used In the end we replaced the bath with a heavy gauge steel one that would not move/flex.

One of our new bathrooms has a walk in shower which is just a drain in part of the tiled floor (with a slight profile so that it is at the low point.). I am amazed that touch wood it seems to work, I can't think of anything that would be asking for trouble more....

Replacing bathroom was near the top of my list. I'm now hoping to put out off until I'm extending.... With any luck I've done a good enough job on the sealant for a while. I don't think whoever put the bathroom in here did the greatest job, but I could do with it lasting a bit (- quite a bit by the time I've saved up) longer.

That'd be the limit of my skill.

In my day we didn't do any art at home. People didn't have the stuff. If I'd had to draw something at home to take to school it'd have been on a bit of regular A4 paper and I'd have used bog standard water colours that kids have.

I bet all NPs had those.... little metal tins that contained about 12 paint colours ... and a little brush.

Anybody remember the magic colouring books? A picture, with dots - and you painted water onto the picture and the dots were the paint so they became coloured :)

I always wanted a Paint by Numbers, but they were expensive. You don't see Paint by Numbers advertised these days, to my knowledge.

Youngest has gone back to doing his art again recently but instead of using proper art pads, paints, pencils etc he is using a bog standard unlined note book and normal pencils of varying HB. They are not even art pencils, just normal every day pencils.

Oooh, I used to love those pads where the water turned to paint, to me they were just magical.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

I was in the Wide Awake Club at about 3.30, but tried to not "get up and potter about", hoping I'd nod off again. I did end up nodding off, eventually, for another 2 hours, but I've given up now, might as well "get up and potter about".

Pottering is one of my very favourite things to do.

    I managed that yesterday.

Doozer is in London with rugby friends. The kids and I had a quiet day. It was so nice to not have someone asking me to do work, or reminding me about work, or asking me questions about work. I actually had a day off, even though I did a small bit of work in the morning, it was fun stuff.

DD made a beautiful cake. Stunning. We braised a joint of beef and had it with vegetables. The kids helped clean up properly. We popped into town locally and a bought a new Kindle.

I changed the bedding and couldn't resist getting into it by 8pm. DD came in and is still asleep next to me. Sun is shining too.

I tried to give blood but failed. The !!!!! test wasn't clear that I had enough iron, so they had to take some blood properly to test properly. I hate needles so much that I often feel lightheaded after. Unfortunately, I did it after the iron test, but the result was fine. I nearly cried with frustration as I could/should have only had the one big proper needle, got the good stuff and then felt ill. It passes quickly but I can't seem to help it. It is a phobia, but I'm better than that. It's more important to donate :(

We'll walk the doglets later, somewhere nice, and await the return of the whirlwind.

When I had a similar frustration I would declare days as work free. It was difficult as my work was originally OH's idea.

    First world problems...

I quite like the two pod cappuccinos that my coffee machine makes but they are expensive.

So I have bought a milk warmer and brother from Aldi and it is absolutely brilliant. Cappuccino tastes better, cost is lower. Win/win.

Very much looking forward to my breakfast this morning.

I will try again. We had that rule in place for date nights.

Otherwise, I will send him away more often! It makes a genuine difference to how I feel today. I am almost looking forward to work tomorrow and feel like I have energy today to give to people. And dogs.

So the brother you bought makes the coffee while you warm the milk. Sounds like a good way of dividing labour to make a tasty yet efficient morning coffee.
