Unbelievable. I've just read the MSE article about the latest HMRC scammers' tricks - apparently someone was daft enough not only to fall for it but also to make payment by buying iTunes vouchers and telling the scammers the voucher numbers !!!!
Brings a whole new dimension to the word "stupid"0 -

Seriously? No ticket barriers at Kings Cross? or Edinburgh?
No barriers and no ticket inspection.
We went up first class, which cost £30 each and included as much booze as you could ask for without being ashamed. It also included the smallest lunch that I have ever been served.
We came back second class (£15 each), which was just as comfy but didn't include the booze etc.
The train journey took a bit over 4 hours, but door to door it's about the same time as flying. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Let me get this straight.......
Kings Cross to Edinburgh, First Class, £30.
Edinburgh to Kings Cross, standard , £15
Journey time 4 hours.
Was this on Planet Earth?
Am I dreaming?

Only time I was ever in 1st class I was "blagging it" with no ticket whatsoever.
Unused to train travel at all, my employer had booked a ticket through thetrainline to go to London and I had instructions to collect the ticket from the office.
Arriving at the train station at ~5.30am, the ticket office wasn't open.
I had NO idea about trains/tickets/travel and the only thing in my head was "you have to get to London". So when the train came I got on it.
I also knew nothing about 1st class except that it'd have nicer seats .... so as I walked along the train and spotted the sign I thought "I might as well sit there and blag it as anywhere else".
I "got away with it", although I was then "stuck in London" as I had no means to buy a ticket home again
But - I had no idea there were any freebies, so when I was being offered drinks I was saying "no" all the time!.
Got home by going to the ticket office and getting them to phone my office to buy a ticket over the phone.0 -
And then we got an even more amazing cloud! I think I should start doing time lapse stuff on the clouds here - we are so lucky to see so much sky!
