The French artisan roofer that my parents employed to fix their roof wasn't overly quick. Although the work he actually did was good, he would frequently disappear for days or even weeks before coming back and doing a bit more. Every time Dad asked when it would be finished the reply was always "Dans un petit mois."
f.
You sure he wasn't taking the petit pois? You're sure you spelt the X correctly?
Actually, Pastures, I know it's a bit late now, but for future reference, it was all in the booklet about "how to vote" that came through the door a while back.
I must admit, I hadn't realised how much help they can give people; I had reason to google something earlier today, and was reading up on it.(I just lurve spiders!)

Then I checked it again, and read it again, and checked, and said it "out loud to myself in my head" just to check I'd done what I had gone in there to do.
I was now sure I'd followed the instructions correctly .....
I do that.
It's good to check. Had 're-read the question before answering' drummed into me at school.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I checked that too. Made sure it was a cross I was supposed to do, double-checked that the cross had to go in the box I was choosing and that an X wasn't to indicate "not this one".
It's a minefield for those with challenging brain fog
You start to doubt everything.
e.g. why put a X which means "No" against the one you're saying "Yes" to .... why not a TICK?0 -

Yes, must admit, I do too!
And then after I'd put it in the box, was still wondering if I'd put the cross where I'd meant to!
(I had, of course! But then I'm the sort of person that can never remember if I've locked the car or not! Almost always I have to redo it!)(I just lurve spiders!)

This is the post process: Grab post and see if it's all for me ... grab out the things that look different/important and open those. All other mail, leaflets, etc, chuck in the corner to be looked at (maybe) later ....
They then sit there until next time I tidy up and they mostly then get chucked into the recycling.
Most times, too, even "looks important" gets tossed onto the chair "to do later" as I don't like receiving unexpected mail that might contain details of a disaster ... so I have to mentally prepare before opening envelopes .... brown ones are the worst for that.0 -

Actually, the thing I read this morning said that it doesn't have to be a cross. You just have to make your intentions perfectly clear., so a tick would be fine. Apparently, even a smiley face in the right box would probably be accepted.
I think they ask for a cross to be used by everyone so that it makes the counting up easier and quicker. If there's something other than a cross, the counter would probably spend a bit more time on that ballot paper.(I just lurve spiders!)

I don't plan to stay up and find out what happened.... no point. Unless you're a twitter-addict or arranging some bizarre protest .... might as well just live as normal, get up tomorrow and have a quick look at google to see who won.
