"On the telly they say "glass wall", I see "who is out there in the dark looking in when you traipse through in your thong/T-shirt"."

We don't have any glass walls, and I would need to borrow a thong in order to traipse around in one.

A much nicer day today. Prolly 29C and sunny with some cloud. Rain now and a cool change and rainy tomorrow unfortunately.

I think I'll take the Generalissimos to the Maritime Museum this weekend and it's very MSE as I have free tickets. Apparently it's excellent. That's Saturday sorted. Now I need something to do on Sunday. I was going to take them snorkeling but apparently they need to learn sea snorkeling rather than pool snorkeling (new one on me <<banned shruggy shoulders smilie>>).

My au pair quit giving 1 days' notice. @$%#. Complete @$%#. To say I am a little grumpy doesn't begin to describe it.

We have a kitchen island. Problem is that it completely flat - no sinks or plug points to spoil the surface. Consequently it just to easy for people to pile it with papers, newspapers and anything else around.

I mostly use a small pair of scissors to open wrappings. A little bit of OCD makes me cut open packets, so I have a neat edge in order to then reseal them with a plastic clip.

As I do this as a matter of course, daily, the scissors are always to hand.
Even for small bags of crisps?!

Hmm - you seem to go through the aupairs. Don't think dw would let me have one even if we could afford it....

Same problem chez michaels even though we have a flat ceramic hob on ours. Ideal for eating, chatting, asking the person who is cooking for homework help but I feel like my dad who always threatened to add a built in slope into all flat surfaces like window sills etc.....
    I think....

Normally it goes pretty well but we've had a couple in quick succession. This was is a #$%$ing idiot.

    I'm positive he's on drugs.

He washes up by squirting washing up liquid on things and rubbing them under a running tap. He puts things into random cupboards on different days.

He quit to follow his dreams.....of selling perfume in a department store. <<sighs>>.

We had a mother's help who lasted just under a week. She wore a long white dress to church one Sunday, a dress with buttons down the front. She came back from church and lay down on the sofa, with quite a few of the buttons undone. She looked very fetching. Too fetching for her own good, because DW sacked her first thing Monday morning.

As I see it, any island or breakfast bar, peninsula, whatever you call it is utterly SPOILED by putting sinks/hobs into them. That then plonks services that need installing/maintaining in the middle of the room - and - it means you can't use it for spreading out, hobbies, paperwork, entertaining/eating ....or to simply look clean/clear.

People shouldn't pile stuff on there and leave it though .... that's just wrong.

    Sometimes!

If the scissors catch my eye - and the alternative is to open the bag and run the risk of having it not open with a nice/perfect/straight edge, then yes :)

    Are the two related?
    :)

    Well correlation isn't causation.

    Yes they are related.

Last night Britain chose its song for the Eurovision song contest. It's catchy, but I don't think it will win. I hope we also work on the production before it takes the stage in Sweden. The two singers need to be professionally styled and the U2 style guitar riffs need to be made a bit more prominent.

Nicky Byrne of Westlife will represent Ireland and the rumour is that Australia is going go bring out one of its big guns... Delta Goodrem has been mentioned. I am sooooooooo excited!!!!
